Priority Plan for Infrastructure Development

Nhon Trach district is currently focusing on mobilizing and efficiently exploiting resources, investing in infrastructure projects with focus is on synchronous and connected urban technical infrastructure, creating momentum for socio-economic development, attracting residents to live and implementing the basic goal of meeting the grade-II urban criteria by 2025 and the grade-I urban center after 2030.

Many infrastructure investment projects

 

According to the Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Trach District Le Thanh My, in the period 2016-2020, the district will focus on completing urban development planning, local development, site clearance, preparing for the implementation of infrastructure projects, especially urban and rural infrastructure, creating momentum for industrial development, logistics services, tourism and realizing urban development goals.

                       

Specifically, for 2 central projects, namely Ring Road 3, Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway and Project calling for investment in Road 319 extending to Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, The district has concentrated resources to implement the site clearance, handed over the clean land fund to the investor to ensure construction on schedule.

 

For the roads invested by the province include: Road 319B, from Ben Cam intersection to the industrial zone boundary; Phuoc An inter-port road; Ton Duc Thang street connects the district center with Highway 51, the District authority will actively coordinate with investors to clear the ground, build bypass roads, connecting roads to ensure a convenient and fast construction process. Currently, a number of routes have completed the necessary stages & packages and put into use, ensuring traffic travel and freight/cargo transportation.

 

To ensure the connection of rural transport infrastructure, urban traffic and inter-regional traffic, the district has invested, upgraded and expanded many arterial roads such as road 25C, road No. 2, road D9, etc., and these works are expected to be completed in 2021. In addition, many roads invested by the district have been completed and put into use such as: entrance to the People's Committee of Phuoc Khanh commune, section of Phuoc Thien Commune Stadium, extension of Huong Highway 19, section from the water plant to Nhon Trach 1 Industrial Park, etc. Some seaports of group V in the area have also been put into operation such as: specialized petroleum port 186, wooden port in Phu Dong section, port of Nhon Trach Thermal Power Plant. The total investment in infrastructure of the district in the past 5 years is more than VND 60 trillion.

 

Besides urban infrastructure, Nhon Trach district also focuses on rural transport development. As of June 2020, the district has invested in new and upgraded 317 rural roads. At present, the rate of concreting for roads managed by the district is 100%, for village roads to reach 75%, for roads and hamlets to reach 70%.

 

Create foundation for Cities of the future

 

The infrastructure development has contributed to creating a new “face” for the district, serving as a premise for socio-economic development, especially ttracting investment, forming urban areas and attracting residents to live for a long time.

 

Up to now, the district has attracted 498 investment projects with a total investment capital of over USD 10 billion; established 1 town; population scale reaches nearly 300,000 people; average income of the people reached 62 million/person/year; Many urban areas, trade services, ecotourism are being formed. In which, the highlights are urban residential projects that create the face of a new city such as Swan Park, Swan Bay, King Bay, Thang Long Home - Hiep Phuoc, Thai Duong SunCo.

 

In the development orientation, Nhon Trach district prioritizes the mobilization and effective exploitation of investment resources to focus on developing synchronous and modern urban infrastructure projects, inter-regional transport infrastructure and identified this as one of three breakthrough stages.

 

Regarding urban infrastructure, the district focuses on monitoring, urging and coordinating with investors to speed up the construction of technical infrastructure works connecting Nhon Trach District with the Southern key economic region: Ring road 3, Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, Phuoc An Interport Road; to deploy the construction of urban drainage, domestic wastewater drainage, industrial wastewater treatment; To complete the planning of 6/8 subdivisions (including 4 urban areas) and upon that basis, to complete investment in infrastructure, trees, lighting and environment items according to the criteria of a grade-II urban city.

 

On the basis of existing and ongoing traffic works, the district focuses on expanding arterial roads, building external traffic routes connecting Nhon Trach with Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, surrounding areas, road(s) connecting Long Thanh international airport with Nhon Trach new city. District leaders consider this an important task to create motivations and opportunities to promote socio-economic development.

 

The Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Trach District Le Thanh My said that the next 5 years will be the period of completing the infrastructure network, especially on traffic;  Regional and inter-regional traffic infrastructure works through the district invested by the State; Provincial & district traffic works will help this locality to maximize its potentials and advantages, and to remove the “bottleneck” for urban development.
