Nearly 1,000 drums contaminated
with hazardous chemicals were discovered at the facility.
Earlier, on August 13, the Provincial Investigation Police Agency received from PC05’s report on the discovery that a scrap business owner had dumped tons of untreated waste into the environment. The PC05 reconnaissance force immediately conducted an administrative check on the households of Mr. Le Van Van and Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Diem (living in Ho Nai 3 commune), and discovered that the vacant land area behind this household’s factory contains a lot of sludge residue from rinsing, washing of iron drums containing chemicals.

Identifying these are types of hazardous chemical containers, PC05 cooperated with the Provincial Police Investigation Agency to preside over and related unions to take samples of waste for inspection; Meanwhile, the police also collected more than 6.4 tons of waste; confiscated nearly 1 thousand drums of all kinds (the amount of scrap that Mr. Van's facility had collected earlier) and more than 4 tons of solution used for chemical cleaning to serve investigation.
