Accordingly, the Department of Health assigns the Provincial Disease Control Center, Dong Nai Rubber General Hospital, and Thong Nhat General Hospital to continue strengthening the testing capacity to serve the hospital demand and receive samples from other units upon request.
Units that are currently capable of testing for SARS-CoV-2 by the Realtime RT-PCR method must soon deploy testing and participate in COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control, and those units that are not yet qualified to test Realtime RT-PCR will actively contact qualified units to submit test samples. At the same time, it is necessary to plan, invest in, upgrade equipment, facilities, human resources, and test bio-products accordingly and ensure efficiency. Reports must be sent to the competent authorities to improve their capacity on screening and confirming SARS-CoV-2 before 31-12-2020.
The Department of Health requires hospitals to regularly monitor and take samples for medical staff with flu symptoms, acute respiratory infections, especially those who have been in contact with patients with respiratory infections, severe pneumonia, in the emergency department, artificial kidney, geriatrics, cancer, cardiology; To strengthen screening and confirmation tests to early detect people infected with SARS-CoV-2 for patients who come to hospital and inpatient treatment with suspicious signs, special attention should be paid to the elders, to those suffering from chronic diseases, even those with unclear epidemiology.
