Dong Nai attends forum on promoting connectivity along East–West economic corridor 2026 in Laos

As part of a working visit to Laos, on April 3, a delegation from Dong Nai Province led by Le Truong Son, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, visited and worked with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse province and attended the 2026 Investment, Trade and TourismCooperation Forum on promoting East–West Economic Corridor connectivity in Champasak Province, Laos.

Prioritize investment resources for clean water in the rural

According to Director of the Department of Construction Ho Van Ha, with the target of rural clean water with the requirement of using water from a centralized water supply source, the Department of Construction will coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to request water supply units in the province to expand water supply to rural areas. However, at present, the centralized water supply system in rural areas has been invested but has not operated effectively, so it should be transferred to better manage this system in order to increase the rate of using clean water from existing works.

Regarding the newly improved rural district criterias and targets of Dinh Quan and Xuan Loc districts, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Phi requests relevant departments and agencies to coordinate with localities to timely guide and remove for the two districts to achieve the set target in 2023.

Production facilities must save energy from 1.5 to 2%, the Provincial People's Committee has just issued the Provincial Plan No. 64/KH-UBND on the implementation of the Program on economical and efficient use of energy in Dong Nai province in 2023. The plan sets a target of saving 1.5-1.7% of energy consumption for key energy-using facilities; at least 2% of electricity per product unit for other industrial production facilities.

Difficulties surround the livestock industry

According to Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien, many forecasts show that Vietnam's economy will grow again from the second quarter of 2023 and this is the driving force to help to restore purchasing power.
