Strengthening the pandemic prevention measures

At Dona Victor Footwear Co., Ltd (Trang Bom District), with the number of employees over 10 thousand people, the grassroots trade union has cooperated with the enterprise to strengthen measures to prevent pandemic at the company gate and workshops according to experience from the first outbreak. In addition to the banners hung neatly in visible places, every morning, the officials standing at the gate remind the employees to wear masks and measure their body temperature. Any employee with high temperature will be taken to the medical office for monitoring. In addition, the grassroots trade union suggested that the enterprise equip many partitions at the cafeteria, split the employees' meal shift to avoid crowds of people. Mid-shift meals were also checked by the grassroots trade union more closely.

Mr. Tran Minh Gia, working at the inspection workshop, said that the enterprise has gradually recovered its production, orders are in large number and the employees' jobs are very stable, so they are very excited and cooperated with the enterprise to strictly implement measures to prevent the pandemic. In addition, at the workshops, the Trade Union team reminded the employees to wear masks, to implement social distancing at work and not to gather during lunch break. “Each employee not only protects his own health, but also takes advantage of discarded materials to make warning signs for the pandemic prevention at the workshop. So, even though the company is full of employees, we still feel secure when entering the workshop,” shared Mr. Gia.

In order to ensure the health of more than 1.3 thousand employees working at the company, as soon as the outbreak reappeared, the grassroots trade union of Minh Thanh Company Limited (Vinh Cuu district) actively drafted medical declarations for officers and employees when returning to the company after a long leave of absence. Accordingly, employees who came to the company had to declare their detailed departure and arrival points at the security gate and regularly measured their body temperature. Employees who went to the outbreak areas were given 14-day quarantine leave at home to monitor their health but could still enjoythe normal salary policy.

The Chairman of the grassroots trade union of Minh Thanh Co., Ltd., Nguyen Dinh Tho, said that for nearly a month, the work of the grassroots trade union staff at the company was more difficult because in addition to propagating measures to prevent the pandemic for employees, they also encouraged the employees to cooperate to implement the pandemic prevention processes and ensure health. Most employees followed the regulations and voluntarily made medical declarations. Based on the employees' declaration, the grassroots trade union would determine their destination for a timely measure. Up to now, about 10 workers from the outbreak areas have been isolated at home, and their health is stable and they can go back to work and travel normally.”

The employees were very worried when knowing that the outbreak occurs in the province. However, in order for them to work with peace of mind, the grassroots trade union has encouraged employees to actively prevent the pandemic according to the guidance of the grassroots trade union and the Ministry of Health;as a result, the pandemic prevention has brought many good results. Currently, the enterprise has received orders until 2021, their jobs and income have started to stabilize again, so the employees are very excited. The important thing at this time is to continue ensuring the health of employees so that they can work efficiently and meet signed orders,” - shared Mr. Tho.

Strictly complying with the pandemic prevention regulations

 According to the Provincial Confederation of Labor (PLC), the recurring pandemic continued to affect production activities as well as employment of employees. In order to help enterprises stabilize their production and secure employment for employees, the PLC asked the grassroots trade unions to focus on propaganda and psychological stabilization so that the employees were not subjective and neglected with the pandemic. Accordingly, in the spirit of ensuring the health and safety of employees, a lot of grassroots trade unions have chosen pandemic prevention models suitable to the actual production situation at their enterprises such as: organizing medical declaration for employees, spraying disinfectants at workplace and factory, requiring employees to wear masks and distributing leaflets to their employees, etc.

In addition, many grassroots trade unions instructed their members and employees how to install and use Bluezone application. Mr. Ly Xe Ba, Chairman of the grassroots trade unions of Cu Thanh Co., Ltd. (Long Thanh District), said that installing Bluezone application is a very effective measure in preventing the pandemic in enterprises with a high concentration of labor. The application is simple and easy to install, so our enterprise has encouraged employees to install the application to control the pandemic in order to promote each person's role in prevention, creating better propaganda among the labor collectives and community.

Vice Chairman of the Confederation of Labor of Long Khanh City Le Thanh Tung said that the city currently has about 23,000 employees. In order for employees to work with peace of mind and enterprises to recover their production from the effects of the first outbreak, the city trade union at all levels focused on propagating to improve their proactive spirit of the pandemic prevention. At the same time, it is recommended that employees stop moving to the outbreak areas and use effective prevention measures in enterprises and businesses. Accordingly, up to now, the majority of the grassroots trade unions has strictly implemented measures to protect their employees' health.
