Approving policy of investment in an incident response lake in Long Thanh Industrial Park

Long Thanh Industrial Park

On the basis of the proposal of the Department of Construction on advising and handling petitions of Sonadezi Long Thanh Joint Stock Company regarding the construction of a lake to respond to environmental incidents on the greenery land in the industrial park, the Provincial People's Committee approving the proposal to allow investment for the above project. At the same time, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province also required the Department of Construction to preside over and guide Sonadezi Long Thanh Joint Stock Company to implement investment procedures and have safety solutions in accordance with regulations.

Previously, the Environmental Impact Assessment Appraisal Council established by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment upon a physical inspection at the wastewater treatment plant of Long Thanh industrial park noticed that there was no land fund for infrastructure to build incident response lakes in accordance with Decree 40/2019/ND-CP dated May 13, 2019. The Council agreed to propose the construction of an incident response lake with an expected volume of 54,380m³ in the isolated greenery land of the industrial park (the land acquisition area is about 13,404m²) The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has also considered and approved the above proposal in Decision No. 427/QD-BTNMT dated February 17, 2020.
