Since the Covid-19 epidemic occurred, enterprises in Dong Nai have continued to exploit the domestic market to have more stable inputs and outputs. Enterprises interested in the domestic market will have more opportunities in connecting supply and demand.
From the beginning of the year until now, Government has required provinces and cities across the country to promote domestic trade promotion, in order to support enterprises to increase their domestic market share.

Pay attention to domestic market
From the end of February 2020, enterprises in Dong Nai began to be affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, such as lacking of input materials and facing difficult output because many customers terminated or canceled orders. By the end of June 2020, exports gradually recovered, but still lower than the same period last year. Dong Nai's main export markets such as the United States, Europe, Japan, and South Korea all fell sharply. The opening of new markets is also limited because many international routes have been paused. Facing this situation, many businesses have tried to sell in domestic.
Mr. Bui The Kich, General Director of Dong Nai Garment Corporation Joint Stock Company, said: “In the past, the company's garments were mainly exported to Europe and the United States. Since the epidemic happened, the company has expanded to sew masks and protective clothing for the domestic market and for export, so production was less affected ”.
For a long time, many businesses in Dong Nai have only paid attention to the foreign market, leaving their home market n with more than 97 million people for Chinese and ASEAN countries to dominate. Therefore, this is an opportunity for businesses to pay more attention to domestic market share.
Ms. Pham Thi Phuong, Head of Import-Export Department of Chemtrovina Co., Ltd. in Nhon Trach Industrial Park II (Nhon Trach district) shared: “The company produces electronic components for export, when the Covid-19 pandemic happened, many companies in foreign countries have to suspend their production which resulting to termination of our orders. Therefore, the company must find more customers in Vietnam to maintain production and business and ensure jobs for workers”. Some businesses said that the domestic market is the salvation for them in the past 4-6 months. In fact, up to now, the linkage between enterprises has not been good, so the same item is the output of one company and the input of the other, but supply and demand have not met yet so the products exported by this company are imported by the other company. This is a major shortcoming in Vietnam, Prime Minister, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc has requested provinces and cities to support businesses to expand their consumption of goods in the domestic market.

Business connection
In recent years, Dong Nai has paid attention to on-the-spot trade promotion to help domestic and foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises in Dong Nai to meet, exchange, sign contracts, supply goods to each other and increase the localization of products. As a result, many businesses find partners to cooperate in sales and expand domestic consumption.
Mr. Nguyen Van Linh, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Trade Promotion Center, said: “Each year, the center organizes many domestic and foreign trade promotion for domestic and FDI enterprises to meet and find more opportunities for cooperation. However, this year, due to the epidemic, the center only promotes domestic, on-site and online trade to support businesses to open more channels for domestic consumption ”.
Through domestic trade promotions, businesses have signed contracts to supply products to each other and signed a memorandum. In addition, businesses also learn and grasp the needs of customers for designs and product quality in order to adjust production accordingly, find more domestic customers.
In addition, there are a number of companies that specialize in supplying inputs to manufacturing companies in Dong Nai that also connect themselves to businesses in the same industry, support the consumption of input products for each other, share large orders, create more jobs and gain revenue.
Mr. Vo Quang Ha, General Director of Tan Vinh Cuu Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa City) said: “The company distributes wood materials to hundreds of domestic companies and has linked about 60 companies specializing in manufacturing wood products for export and domestic consumption. The company leases large space for wood enterprises to display products and regularly organizes meetings with domestic and foreign customers in order to create more opportunities for cooperation and sales”.
When the epidemic occurred, many domestic and FDI enterprises in Dong Nai focused on sourcing raw materials in Vietnam to proactively produce, increase the localization of products, and promptly catch up with preferences. from CPTPP, EVFTA ... at the same time increasing market share with a market of more than 97 million people with a large consumption power.
