Stabilize prices of traditional medicines and medicinal materials for the treatment of Covid-19

In which, it is required that hospitals and stores trading in traditional drugs and herbal ingredients strictly comply with the State's regulations on management of prices of drugs and medicinal ingredients; must not take advantage of the Covid-19 epidemic situation to speculate, hoard and push up the price of drugs and medicinal ingredients, especially drugs and products with ingredients from Andrographis paniculata. Drug retailers seriously implement the standards of “Good Pharmacy Practices” (GPP) as prescribed by the Ministry of Health.

For stores trading (wholesale) traditional drugs and herbal ingredients, they must strictly comply with the State's regulations to ensure the supply of traditional drugs and herbal ingredients for medical examination and treatment establishments. In case the price of input materials increases, it is recommended that the company research and consider adjusting other costs (selling costs, administrative expenses) to stabilize prices during the Covid-19 epidemic.

Particularly, Health Departments of districts and cities are responsible for notifying private medical examination and treatment clinics and drug retailers; regularly check and post-audit the maintenance of the implementation of GPP principles and standards and professional regulations on pharmacy; focus on detecting counterfeit drugs, poor quality drugs, drugs not allowed to circulate, hoarding goods, increasing prices, strictly handling violations.

Previously, at a meeting with Dong Nai Province on the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic on July 23, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam directed Dong Nai Province to consider the combined treatment between Eastern medicine and Western medicine for the Covid-19 patients in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces to treat asymptomatic or mildly ill F0 patients in the province.
