From 0:00 on July 20, BOT toll stations in the province as well as 18 southern provinces and cities will suspend toll collection to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic.
The Directorate for Roads of Vietnam has just sent a document to the People's Committees of localities, investors, BOT project enterprises... about the suspension of toll collection and free of charge at toll stations using road services to support COVID-19 prevention and control from 0:00 on July 20 until the locality announces the lifting of social distancing according to Directive 16.
During this time, investors, BOT project enterprises and toll collection service providers shall arrange personnel to protect equipment and properties of tollgates. Ensure traffic safety in the tollgate area. There is a plan to promptly organize toll collection again right after the isolation period is over. The suspension of toll collection will be recorded and fully archived as well as closely monitored by agencies and units in accordance with regulations.
Toll stations outside the areas to implement social distancing, investors, BOT project enterprises, etc. will not collect fees from vehicles participating in the transportation of medicines, machinery, equipment, supplies, etc. goods through the tollgates. At the same time, it is free of charge for vehicles carrying officials, medical staff, people to strengthen support in epidemic areas, and vehicles for transporting people from epidemic areas to localities. Coordinate with relevant agencies to organize lane separation, channel separation, and traffic guidance so that the above-mentioned vehicles can pass through the toll booths as quickly as possible.
For projects where the People's Committees of provinces and cities are competent state agencies to sign project contracts, the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam proposes the People's Committee to base on the epidemic situation and epidemic prevention and control in their localities to consider suspending and freeing fees at toll stations to support epidemic prevention and control.
Currently, in the province, there is a BOT toll station on the bypass of Bien Hoa City (located at km1841+912 of National Highway 1, the section through Trung Hoa Commune, Trang Bom District), and the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, National Highway 51 are in operation.
