Fine up to 150 million VND imposed on administrative violations against health insurance

From November 15, the Government's Decree No. 117/2020/ND-CP regulating the sanctioning of administrative violations in the health sector will take effect. Accordingly, the maximum fine level for administrative violations on health insurance is 75 million VND for individuals and 150 million VND for organizations.

Administrative violations in the health sector include violating regulations on medical prevention and HIV/ AIDS prevention and control; regulations on medical examination and treatment; cosmeceuticals; medical equipment; health insurance; and population.

Administrative violations related to health insurance are specified in Articles 80 to 95 of the Decree such as violating regulations on payment of health insurance premium; including people not under the management responsibility of the organization on the list of health insurance; violating regulations on use of health insurance cards in medical examination and treatment; violating regulations on making medical records and prescribing health insurance drugs; acting against regulations on management of drugs, chemicals, medical supplies, technical services, hospitalization costs and other expenses in medical examination and treatment under health insurance, etc.
