WEB PORTAL - On the afternoon of November 16, Vietnam Social Security (VSS) on held an online ceremony in Hanoi to formally introduce the application ‘VssID – Digital Insurance Application’ for mobile devices to nearly 700 meeting stations nationwide. Attending were Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. At Dong Nai station, member of the Central Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Thai Bao attended the conference.

The VSSID is a product in the digital transformation ecosystem of VSS and available in both App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android platforms. It provides users with information on their social insurance engagement history, social insurance codes, medical facilities accepting social insurance as well as places for paying insurance premiums. It can also update news related to current health and social insurance policies, social security agencies, suitable hospitals for health insurance card holder, locations to pay fees for social security and health insurance.
Using this application, users can monitor their employer's obligation to pay fees of social, health and unemployment insurance for employees, contributing to publicity and transparency and preventing the situation of delaying payment of social, health and unemployment insurance for employees of agencies and enterprises. The application is also a direct communication channel, providing information on social, health and unemployment insurance policies.

Speaking at the ceremony, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated VSS’s efforts in IT application and administrative reform over the past time. The implementation of VssID is an important step, strongly promoting the sector’s digital transformation in accordance with the guiding spirit of the Prime Minister, contributing to realising the assigned tasks in Resolution No. 28-NQ/TW of the 12th Party Central Committee on reforming social insurance policies, thereby implementing the national digital strategy, contributes to building e-Government. This is a humanitarian application that will help our citizens - especially people in the Central provinces who have been hit hard by floods, which their insurance cards may have been swept away or damaged or lost.
The PM emphasized that since more than 60 percent of the Vietnamese population are now using a smart device, VssID is expected to be widely and quickly popular in the community. In addition, VSS needs to continue integrating online public services; coordinate with the Ministry of Health in studying and deploying integrated health insurance cards on this application; While ensuring network safety and security, securing information for users when participating in the application; coordinating to promote propaganda for actively participates in social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, etc of Vietnamese citizens, which will reach the target of significant growth of people joining in health insurance to around 91 percent in 2020.
