Preparing to make a “Big stride” in Economy

With breakthroughs in transport infrastructure development, economists believe that Dong Nai will make great strides in economic development in the coming time.


The province’s target is that GRDP will increase by 8.5%/ year, maintaining the proportion of industry and services in GRDP over 90%. The per capita income is expected to reach over USD 8,000 by the end of 2025.

 *Preparation for accelerating

 

It is expected that in the period 2020 - 2025, Dong Nai’s economy will experience a high growth step because of inheriting the foundation in the previous period, plus a series of large technical infrastructure projects deployed to facilitate the province. Particularly, Long Thanh International Airport, Dau Giay - Phan Thiet, Ben Luc - Long Thanh, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressways and regional transport projects that are being deployed in the area will bring up a lot of dynamism and opportunities to promote development and transform the socio-economic structure of the province, especially the attraction of domestic and foreign investment which is predicted to increase sharply.

 

The province is planning more than 5 thousand hectares of land for industrial development in the next phase by expanding and investing in new industrial zones to meet needs of FDI and domestic enterprises. At the same time, the province is also planning to utilize its land to attract projects in the fields of trade, service, tourism, real estate, high-tech agriculture, etc.

 

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Cao Tien Dung advised: “The province has directed its districts and city to do well in the land use planning for the period 2021-2030, in which it is necessary to forecast, update and include in the land use planning of projects on the fields accordingly. Therefore, inviting enterprises to invest in will quickly facilitate the project to create conditions for socio-economic development for the locality and the province”.

 

Dong Nai will also create favorable conditions to mobilize capital for the entire society for economic development. It is expected that the total mobilized social investment capital in the next 5 years will be over 500 trillion VND. Dong Nai continues to support enterprises to participate in deep integration and timely grasp tax incentives so that the average annual export turnover can increase from 8% or more.  

 

*Solutions for economic development 

 

Dong Nai will focus executing its solutions for 9 areas to help the economy accelerate in the coming period. In which, the growth model associated with competitiveness enhancement will continue to be innovated. Obstacles hindering the province’s socio-economic development and resources will be identified, spare ground needs to be exploited to propose and recommend specific mechanisms and policies to the province for dynamic and stable development. In addition, regional linkage and strategic economic cooperation between Dong Nai province and domestic and international localities in all fields will also be strengthened. Quality of growth and competitiveness of the economy is also planned to improve, and key economic sectors with high added value will also be strongly developed.

 

According to Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Ho Van Ha, the province is focusing on researching and preparing necessary conditions to organize planning of the province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 in accordance with the Planning Law, in which focusing on the planning of industrial - agricultural - service zones 

(complexes) (processing industry, high-tech agriculture, and services for processing industry and agriculture), adjusting zones industry, industrial clusters, service zones, tourism and so forth, and fields with strengths to anticipate development after Long Thanh International Airport and expressways passing through the province have been invested in construction, as a new driving force for economic development of the province.

 

The province will restructure its industry in the direction of promoting level of technology, innovating and transforming digitally, fully exploiting opportunities of the fourth industrial revolution. Processing, manufacturing, supporting industries, high-tech industries will be facilitated to invite businesses for investment.

 

In addition, the province will increase resources for ecological agriculture, organic agriculture, and hi-tech agriculture in the direction of commodity production; mobilize and effectively use resources for economic development;establish synchronous and modern infrastructure; develop urban areas and economic sectors and new business models; and promote regional, international cooperation and linkages.
