The Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway component project is built according to the expressway standard class A, with a design speed of 120kms/h. Phase phase with 4 complete lanes. Total adjusted investment is nearly 12.6 trillion VND, in which construction cost is 7,201 billion VND. In the completed phase, there are 6 lanes. The project has a length of 99kms, of which 51.5kms is passing through Dong Nai.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Member of the Politburo, Standing Deputy Prime Minister of the Government, Mr. Truong Hoa Binh said that synchronous infrastructure development, especially transport infrastructure, is an important and priority taskto the Party and State and is one of the country's three strategic breakthroughs. In recent years, the investment and putting into use of the expressways has had a great impact on the economic development, becoming a driving force to awaken the potential of many regions and regions. Facing the development needs of the country, the Party and State have decided to invest in the construction of the North-South expressway, accordingly, in the 2017-2020 period, to choose the priority phases with 654 kms, to basically complete by 2021. Once approved by the National Assembly, the policy of converting from investment in the form of public-private partnerships using a part of the State budget to public investment for 3 projects becomes In the sections of Phan Thiet- Dau Giay, Vinh Hao- Phan Thiet and Mai Son- National Road 45, the Government has instructed the Ministry of Transport to promptly prepare works for the North-South Expressway component project of Phan Thiet- Dau Giay is eligible to start construction.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Cao Tien Dung said that the Phan Thiet-Dau Giay expressway project is a national key project, the province has directed the entire political system to focus on the work of compensation, support and re-development to settle and soon stabilize lives for people whose land is acquired for early handover to meet the general progress of the project. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tien Dung also thanked more than 1-2 thousand households in the districts of Thong Nhat, Cam My, Xuan Loc and Long Khanh City for giving up their family land for general development of country.
