Nearly 8 months of 2021, the enterprises in the province exported nearly US$15.2 billion and imported about US$13 billion, so the trade surplus was nearly US$2.2 billion. In which, the enterprises with foreign direct investment had a trade surplus of US$1.56 billion; the private enterprises with domestic investment had a trade surplus of US$470 million. Particularly, the enterprises with state capital have a trade deficit of about US$185 million.
Garment is a key export surplus item.
According to the information from the Bureau of Statistics of Dong Nai Province, the group of goods that the enterprises in the province import a lot mainly to serve for industrial production are chemicals, plastics, machinery, equipments, tools and spare parts. Particularly, in August 2021, the province's export turnover decreased by nearly 20% compared to the previous month, the province's import turnover decreased by about 12% and Dong Nai Province must be trade deficit. The reason is that due to the Covid-19 epidemic, many factories reduced their capacity, so all exporting goods decreased sharply.
