Speaking at the meeting, Director of Department of Health Phan Huy Anh Vu said that said that with the initiative, creativity, determination and efforts of the collective, up to now, the health sector together with other departments, branches and localities in the whole province have basically controlled the Covid-19 epidemic. All 3 cases of Covid-19 infection from the beginning of the year until now have been promptly isolated, treated and discharged from the hospital. Other diseases such as dengue fever, hand-foot and mouth disease, and measles have also decreased significantly compared to 2019.

However, according to forecasts of health experts, the Covid-19 epidemic in the world is still undergoing very complicated developments and showing no signs of slowing down. Therefore, the whole health sector continues to be proactive, vigilant and neglectful in disease prevention and control. Hospitals and medical facilities must continue to strictly follow with regulations to ensure criteria for safe hospitals, prevent epidemics from occurring in medical facilities.

In addition, leaders of the health sector require units to raise their vigilance so as not to miss cases of disease without symptoms. All returnees from epidemic area, if having fever or cough symptoms, should immediately report to the healthcare provider to be tested with SARS-CoV-2; Patients with signs of pneumonia, the elderly with underlying diseases with cough and fever manifestations should be closely monitored and promptly handled, to avoid affecting their health and lives.
