Epidemics prevented from overlapping

The whole country recorded more than 70,000 cases of dengue fever, down 64% compared to the same period in 2019. In which, the southern region had the number of dengue cases accounting for 57%. Dong Nai province is also listed into the group of provinces with high dengue fever cases.

Speaking at the recent online conference on disease prevention and vaccination safety, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen emphasized, by the methods of initiative, creativity and solidarity among all the classes, Vietnam has basically controlled the Covid-19 pandemic so far. However, the pandemic is still complicated around the world, showing no signs of cooling down and always posing a potential risk; therefore, the whole health sector must not be subjective and indifferent to the pandemic prevention and control.

Following the Prime Minister's direction for both pandemic prevention and socio-economic development, the Departments of Health and health facilities nationwide need to strictly comply with regulations on the pandemic prevention and control. In particular, it is necessary to implement well in effective testing, isolating, localizing, and suppressing the pandemic if an outbreak occurs, to avoid spreading to the community.

In addition, for dengue fever and hand, foot and mouth disease, there is no vaccine to prevent the diseaseso far; therefore, it is necessary to further propagate so that people can actively cooperate with the health sector to do a good job of disease prevention. At the same time, it is required to carry out propaganda so that people can appropriately apply vaccination for current vaccine-preventable diseases; comply with procedures of safe vaccination, ensure safety and health for the people, and absolutely prevent epidemics from overlapping.
