Dong Nai - an attractive investment destination for Japanese businesses

WP - Mr. Okada Hideyuki, President of the Japan Business Association in Ho Chi Minh City, said so at the Dialogue Conference with Japanese businesses on customs policies and procedures in 2020, held by Dong Nai Customs Department (DNCDepartment) in the afternoon of September 22.

According to Mr. Okada Hideyuki, Dong Nai has been an important investment destination for many Japanese businesses for many years. Currently, the province has 130 Japanese enterprises operating in production and business activities and is the locality with the largest number of enterprises and investment capital scale compared to other provinces.

 

Director General of DNC Department Phung Thi Bich Huong said that the Dialogue Conference with businesses and enterprises was an opportunity for DNC Department to inform businesses and enterprises about new policies on customs; exchange and listen to their constructive comments and feedbacks so that DNC Department can devise solutions to further improve efficiency of business management and support or propose to the Customs sector to complete the legal policy in terms of customs, especially during the difficult times for businesses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. DNC Department was committed to working closely with the Japan Business Association to strengthen solutions to support businesses, organize dialogues, provide consultancy, share difficulties and accompany businesses to overcome difficulties for production and business development.

 

At the conference, DNC Department disseminated important new policies, procedures and legal documents in the customs field, particularly, the rules of origin of goods in the EVFTA and the Circular regulating the procedures for application of import and export border gates for goods temporarily imported for re-export, border-gate transfer business, bonded warehouses, etc.

 

At the dialogue, in addition to direct statements from businesses, the Japan Business Association also gathered 31 comments from businesses about issues such as certificates of origin, tax reduction and so on.
