In order to strengthen the prevention and control of widely-spread hand-foot-and-mouth disease, minimizing deaths, leaders of the Health Department have sent an urgent dispatch to the Provincial Centers for Disease Control and Health Centers. Districts, cities, hospitals and non-public health facilities in the province require aggressive implementation of disease prevention and control measures.

In particular, the Department of Health assigns the Centers for Disease Control and district health centers to closely monitor disease situation, promptly detect and thoroughly handle outbreaks as soon as they are detected, strengthen capacity to take samples for identifying pathogens, consolidate mobile anti-epidemic teams, mobile emergency teams are ready to investigate, verify, evaluate, handle outbreaks and support lower levels in controlling outbreaks, emergency, treatment when needed. At the same time propaganda for people to eat clean, clean drinking, clean living, clean hands and clean toys; organize soap hand washing campaign, implement food hygiene and safety, eat and drink hygiene.

According to the leaders of the Department of Health, in addition to some common diseases such as dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, measles, recently there have been more than 70 cases of leukemia in the Central Highlands provinces and Ho Chi Minh City. Dong Nai is a locality with a relatively large level of exchange with these localities so it cannot be subjective. Therefore, the Department of Health has directed Dong Nai Children's Hospital as a focal point to organize a provincial training course on guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of diphtheria under the guidance of the Ministry of Health. The medical examination and treatment facilities after attending the provincial training courses are responsible for deploying and disseminating to all health workers at the unit for information and implementation.
