High efficiency
Over the past time, the Dong Nai government has implemented a series of programs and projects to develop agricultural production with high technology applications and to have a competitive advantage in integration, which initially brought good results.
In particular, the Dong Nai Province Sustainable Agricultural Development Program for the period 2020-2025, most recently promulgated by the Provincial People's Committee, aims to evaluate the resources related to sustainable agricultural development in the province; assess the situation and forecasts related to sustainable agricultural development; solutions for sustainable agriculture development up to 2025. Earlier, the “Enhancement of competitiveness for Dong Nai’s agricultural products in the context of international economic integration” project was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in 2019, is also determined to accept competition and take the initiative in international integration. In particular, the state management agencies of the province play a constructive role to help producers and businesses can transform and develop accordingly in the process of international economic integration; focus on developing products and market segments that have a competitive advantage to meet demand; building sustainable distribution channels, maintaining markets in the province and in the country, protecting livelihoods for people engaged in agricultural production. In which, 7 groups of products have advantages and strengths of the province to focus on supporting solutions to enhance product competitiveness including: coffee, cashew, black pepper, pork, chicken, fruit and wooden products.
One commune One product (OCOP) Program is also a very important solution to realize the group of criteria “economy and production organization” in Dong Nai's new rural construction. The OCOP Program has really encouraged many businesses, production facilities as well as cooperatives to actively exploit the potential of rural specialties with the goal of building great brands for local agricultural products. Dong Nai has 17 OCOP certified products with 2 products reaching 4-star standards, far exceeding the goal set in 2019. In particular, many traditional products and local strengths rise out of “small scope”, which well-known in both domestic and export markets.

According to the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Huynh Thanh Vinh, Dong Nai will integrate projects in the field of agriculture to carry out the central task of developing agricultural economy in association with social development and environmental protection; promoting favorable conditions towards building modern agriculture, proactively coping with the impacts of climate change and the requirements set out in integration. The above-mentioned agricultural projects have practical support policies for farmers, cooperatives and businesses that participate in the program. In such common spirit, each locality will 'stick' to the actual situation, exploit its own characteristics and advantages for development.
In the orientation of developing large-scale commodity agriculture, the role of cooperatives as a ‘link’ to help farmers and businesses access support policies, is very important. Mr. Do Phuoc Dung, Chairman of the Union of Cooperatives, said that in the coming time, the Union of Cooperatives will continue to support and create conditions for cooperatives to develop in-depth understanding; and support to strengthen weak cooperatives. Staff training is very important for the development of cooperatives now, the Cooperative Union will coordinate with localities to strengthen training in order to gradually build a team of cooperative management officials who are qualified and enthusiastic.
Recently, the Provincial Cooperative Development Fund also continues to support cooperatives to implement many projects in the field of agriculture.
