In the past time, in order to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, many procedures on implementing compensation and support for the Long Thanh International Airport project such as publicizing the compensation and support plan, payment of compensation, support, and handover of resettlement land to the people have forced to temporarily stop. Mr. Duong Van Nhat, Director of the Long Thanh District Land Fund Development Center, said that for these works, it must be publicly done with the people according to the regulations. However, when applying the social distancing measures, it is not possible to gather a large number of the people to implement it, so it must be temporarily suspended. This has greatly affected the overall progress of the project.

Currently, along with the province that have been considering the solutions to gradually ease the social distancing measures, the Long Thanh District People's Committee has also planned to “re-restart” the process of compensation and support with the goal of both speeding up progress and ensuring safety against the epidemic.

Mr. Le Van Tiep, Chairman of the Long Thanh District People's Committee, said that for the publicity of the compensation and support plan for the people, the locality has developed a plan to be able to deploy it in the last week of September. Accordingly, at present, there have been 699 follow-up cases that the Long Thanh District Land Fund Development Center has completed the compensation and support plan but has not yet made it publicly available to the people. For these cases, the Long Thanh District People's Committee has set a timetable for public implementation starting from September 26. The publicized households have been currently living in the area of ​​Long Thanh District. In order to ensure safety against the Covid-19 epidemic during the public implementation of the compensation and support plan, the Long Thanh District People's Committee has directed the the Long Thanh District Land Fund Development Center to divide the implementation in shifts. Specifically, the publicity will be carried out 4 phases per day with the number of about 50 households for each time. "In the current situation, this is the most optimal solution that can be implemented to ensure the overall progress of the project," Mr. Le Van Tiep emphasized.

According to Mr. Le Van Tiep, in addition to dividing into small phases, the district will also perform a rapid test of Covid-19 epidemic for households before participating in public phases of compensation and support plans. "In order to create the favorable conditions for the people, the district has also directed the competent authorities to issue the traffic permits to the households on the list who have received invitations," Mr. Le Van Tiep said.

In order to remove the difficulties and obstacles in the process of compensation and support works for the Long Thanh International Airport project while still applying the social distancing measures to prevent and control the epidemic, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc has agreed for the Long Thanh District People's Committee to send the proposed compensation and support plans to the people by post at the meetings with departments and Long Thanh District People's Committee on the project implementation on September 24. “The sending it by post must be implemted by the registered letter to avoid loss. In addition, compensation and support plans must also be posted on the websites of relevant agencies for people to understand, "- Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc emphasized.

Fully support the local people so that they can build their houses in resettlement areas

According to the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc, along with the publicity of the compensation and support plans, the Long Thanh District People's Committee has also needed to focus on other tasks such as the consideration and allocation of resettlement land in order to speed up the overall progress of the project in the coming time.

In particular, when social distancing measures are gradually eased, the authorities must immediately implement the measures to support the people to build their houses in the resettlement area of ​​Loc An - Binh Son in order that people can quickly settle into a new life. “Through the survey, I found that there are about 100 houses under construction in the resettlement area. The Long Thanh District People's Committee must survey to see if the people have any problems to support. We must create all the most favorable conditions for the people to build their houses, and religious organizations to build their new locations," the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc said.

Regarding the connection of electricity and water for households in the  Loc An - Binh Son Resettlement Area, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc requested the electricity and water supply sectors to have the working groups to support the people at the sites. This will help speed up the connection of electricity and water of households while ensuring safety against the epidemic. “There must be a working group arranged right at the ​​Loc An - Binh Son Resettlement Area or at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Binh Son Commune in order to support the people as quickly as possible. The people and officials performing the work must take the measures on prevention and control of the epidemic in accordance with the regulations. It is not possible to let each household directly contact the electricity and water supplies when they need to connect them"- Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc emphasized.
