According to PhD. Nguyen Vu Thuong, in the face of the complicated Covid-19 epidemic, it is suggested that Dong Nai province need to raise its vigilance and promptly grasp the possible danger to control the pandemic; ensure safety for people and medical staff in medical examination and treatment establishments. In particular, it is necessary to distance patients in the hospital, pay attention to the elderly, those with underlying illnesses and returning from Danang. In particular, the epidemic surveillance system should also be enhanced to detect early cases of diseases, avoid ‘overlapping’ epidemics.
According to representatives of the Department of Health, as of August 3, Dong Nai recorded 3 cases of Covid-19, of which 1 case was cured. Authorities have organized centralized isolation for more than 1.2 thousand people, home isolation of more than 7.6 thousand people and more than 2.5 thousand cases requiring health monitoring.
The whole province currently has 3 isolated medical centers. Each district/city has also actively prepared its own quarantine area. Currently, the Provincial People's Committee is continuing to direct the Department of Health and other departments to continue surveying and establishing isolation zones at motels and hotels to serve the isolation of foreign experts entering Dong Nai for working.
As of August 3, the whole province has made more than 2.3 thousand test samples, of which 3 cases were found positive. The province has spent about VND 100 billion to purchase additional machines for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.
In the first 7 months of the year, there was no case of Zika virus disease reported in the area; recorded more than 2.3 thousand cases of dengue fever, down more than 71% over the same period in 2019; nearly 900 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease, down 67% over the same period last year; 127 measles cases, down more than 91% from the same period last year.
