Beyond environmental sanitation and tree planting, urban beautification work also carries profound cultural significance, evoking pride in a dynamic young city that still preserves its identity of a land with nearly 330 years of formation and development.
Cultural imprints on every street and corner
Currently, many central streets in Dong Nai City have become more vibrant with flags, banners, and slogans celebrating major celebrations, all arranged in a synchronized and orderly manner. Wards and communes have simultaneously updated signs, nameplates, and directional markers at agencies, units, and public facilities. They have also mobilized members of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, association members, and residents to participate in environmental sanitation, tree care, the removal of illegal advertisements, sidewalk repainting, and the beautification of streets in residential areas.
In Tran Bien ward, urban beautification activities are being carried out enthusiastically. Along major streets such as Ha Huy Giap, Nguyen Van Tri, and April 30, as well as in the Bien Hung Park area, flags, banners, and slogans have been displayed in a uniform manner, giving the city a refreshed appearance ahead of the ceremony announcing the establishment of Dong Nai City. Residential neighborhoods have simultaneously launched environmental sanitation campaigns, tree care, and sidewalk improvement, contributing to a bright, green, clean, and beautiful urban landscape.
At present, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is coordinating with agencies, units, and localities to carry out decorations along streets, in central areas, and at the venue for the ceremony announcing the National Assembly’s Resolution on the establishment of Dong Nai City, ensuring a solemn and unified appearance. Alongside the decoration work, artistic units under the department are actively organizing music, dance, and cai luong (literally translated as “reformed theatre”, a traditional musical performance art of Vietnam) performances at the grassroots level, helping spread pride and creating a vibrant atmosphere of emulation among the people.
Nguyen Duy Tan, Chairman of the Tran Bien ward People’s Committee, said that the ceremony announcing the National Assembly’s Resolution on the establishment of Dong Nai City is a political event of special significance. As a central ward in the city in terms of politics, economy, culture, education, and science, Tran Bien ward is focusing on implementing urban beautification measures in a synchronized manner while organizing solemn and practical celebratory activities associated with preserving and promoting the cultural values of the Dong Nai region.
Meanwhile, in Bien Hoa ward, urban beautification work is being carried out in association with promoting the traditional pottery craft, a distinctive cultural feature of the locality. Numerous ceramic products have been arranged and displayed along Bui Huu Nghia Street to create unique landscape highlights. Notably, the pillars of Hoa An Bridge have been "dressed" in artistic murals depicting the pottery-making process, the traditional craft village, and the daily labor activities of local residents.
According to Nguyen Van Luu, Chairman of the Nghia Trung commune People’s Committee, in addition to publicizing the ceremony announcing the National Assembly’s Resolution on the establishment of Dong Nai City, the locality has directed departments, divisions, mass organizations, and schools to intensify urban beautification efforts. These activities include displaying Party and national flags, pennants, banners, posters, and slogans at office headquarters, along central inter-village roads, and on sections of National Highway 14 passing through the area, in compliance with regulations and ensuring traffic safety.
The management boards of villages in Nghia Trung commune are mobilizing residents to display national flags, maintain environmental sanitation, and help create a bright, green, clean, and beautiful landscape.
At the same time, local authorities have launched and promoted public participation in the “Green Sunday” movement, encouraging residents to clean village roads and alleys and beautify landscapes in residential areas, along streets, and around welcome gates and cultural houses throughout the locality.
Accelerating the completion of projects
On May 7, Ho Van Ha, Member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, signed and issued Plan No. 10/KH-UBND on urban beautification to welcome the establishment of Dong Nai City. Accordingly, urban beautification work must be implemented in a synchronized manner across the city, with a focus on major streets and central areas to ensure a spacious, clean, and attractive urban landscape while creating distinctive highlights.

The implementation plan includes the beautification of greenery, lighting systems, and urban infrastructure, as well as ensuring urban order, environmental sanitation, and registering completed projects and works. In particular, the Department of Construction has been assigned to take the lead in coordinating with and urging the City Construction Investment Project Management Board to concentrate resources and accelerate construction progress, with priority given to completing key components of three projects ahead of the ceremony announcing the National Assembly’s Resolution on the establishment of Dong Nai City.
Specifically, these include the Huong Lo 2 Extension Investment Project (Section 1 – Phase 1), the Bien Hoa City Central Axis Road Construction Project on the section from Vo Thi Sau Street to Dang Van Tron Street, and the project on repairing the National Highway 51 section from Km0+000 to Km5+300.
In addition, the Dong Nai City People’s Committee has assigned wards such as Tran Bien, Tam Hiep, and Tan Trieu to carry out street beautification, manage and operate public lighting systems, and maintain and prune trees in Bien Hung Park, Duong Tu Giang Park, and the City Square, contributing to a civilized urban appearance. Meanwhile, Road Management Area 4 is organizing environmental sanitation and beautification activities along the National Highway 1 section from Dong Nai Bridge to the Vung Tau intersection.
With thorough preparation and the strong determination of the entire political system, Dong Nai is ready for the ceremony announcing the National Assembly’s Resolution on the establishment of Dong Nai City.
Urban beautification efforts are helping foster a vibrant atmosphere of patriotic emulation among cadres, Party members, and people from all strata of society, while enhancing public awareness of environmental sanitation and urban aesthetics and promoting the image of a dynamic and civilized Dong Nai.
