Residents voice strong support for establishment of Dong Nai City

The Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee (PPC)'s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization announced that it recently carried out an online public opinion survey on the sentiments and thoughts of officials, Party members, and all strata of society in the province regarding Dong Nai becoming a city.

The survey was conducted across 99 Party committees, directly under the PPC. Workers, farmers, civil servants, public employees, armed forces personnel, retirees, youth union members, young people, employees in the commercial-service sector, and office staff were the survey participants.

According to the results of the survey, the vast majority of provincial officials, Party members, and citizens (98.1% of respondents) think that people in the province are paying attention to, showing interest in, and expressing agreement, support, trust, and optimism for the establishment of Dong Nai city.

91% of the survey’s participants rated highly the leadership and direction of the Dong Nai PPC, its People’s Council, and People’s Committee regarding the establishment of Dong Nai city.

Over 69.8% of respondents gave a “Good” rating to the implementation results of several aspects related to the establishment of Dong Nai city in the recent period. The evaluated aspects included: the implementation of directives and guidelines issued by the Central Government and the PPC regarding the establishment of Dong Nai city; the organization of public consultation on the proposal to form wards and to establish Dong Nai city; leveraging Dong Nai’s potential and advantages to advance socio-economic development, urban infrastructure, industry, services, logistics, and international integration in recent years; building urban development planning orientations, building urban government, fostering digital transformation, advancing sustainable development, and improving people’s quality of life; the efforts of Party committees and authorities to focus on addressing and resolving shortcomings, limitations, weaknesses, and issues of public concern.

After Dong Nai becomes a city, the majority of respondents suggested continuing to disseminate the significance and importance of establishing Dong Nai city; approving major policies and orientations; disseminating key tasks for the coming period; reinforcing and consolidating the organisational structure; improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management; promoting the role and responsibility of cadres, Party members, and citizens in building and developing localities; focusing on political-ideological orientation in the press; and prioritising diverse, multi-dimensional, and critical information to help cadres, Party members, and citizens gain a full and accurate understanding of the policies of the Party and State on building Dong Nai into a city.

The results of the public opinion survey show that cadres, Party members, and citizens across the province are interested in, following, and expressing agreement, support, trust, and high consensus regarding the establishment of Dong Nai city. This marks a shift in the development and governance model that satisfies the aspirations of all strata of society and is in line with the Central Government's directives and the demands for development in the new period.

The establishment of Dong Nai city will create new mechanisms and growth drivers, contributing to building the province into a modern industrial, logistics, and service center, serving as a regional connectivity hub and an international gateway for the southern region. It will also affirm political determination and high unity in will and action; consolidate trust, political resolve, and the aspiration for development; promote the strength of the great national unity bloc; and mobilise and effectively use resources to create strong momentum for successfully achieving the goal of transforming Dong Nai into a modern, green, and civilised urban area.

Cadres, Party members and citizens appreciated the highly decisive, timely and coordinated leadership and direction of the Dong Nai PPC, its People’s Council and People’s Committee in establishing Dong Nai City.

To build and develop Dong Nai into a green, modern, and civilised urban area in the future, most cadres, Party members and citizens agreed that five fields should be prioritised, including improving the quality of a team of cadres who are honest, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility, and performing public duties in a synchronized and orderly manner; creating a diverse, synchronised, and modern transportation infrastructure system; operating the two-level local government apparatus effectively; developing science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation; and being decisive in the fight against corruption, waste, and negativity.
