This news brings great joy and high expectations to the people across the province. Amid the shared joy, many of them have expressed their commitment to joining hands and contributing to building a sustainable Dong Nai city.
Nguyen Tan Hung, Member of Provincial Party Committee, Party Committee Secretary, and Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Phu commune:
Opening up space, creating momentum for breakthroughs
Dong Phu currently meets all the core criteria to be upgraded to a ward, ranging from population size, area, location, and function to socio-economic structure and urbanization rate. This is both a “necessary” and a “sufficient” condition for the locality to enter a new phase of development with more demanding standards.
Dong Phu's advantage also stems from the foundation inherited from its earlier growth, which includes an increasingly comprehensive
transportation infrastructure system that is seamlessly connected to major logistics hubs and port clusters. Along with this, the fact that previous communes have met new-style rural and advanced new-style rural standards creates a solid 'support base' for transitioning to an urban model.
Dong Phu still has clear room for growth. The eastern area is connected to the Nam Dong Phu Industrial Park and a large-scale industrial park that has been planned; while its northern part borders a dynamically developing area, creating chances to draw investment and form new growth poles.
The upgrade to ward status is not merely an administrative change but also a qualitative transformation in the development model. This will be a significant "push" for Dong Phu to effectively exploit its advantages, expand development space, and work toward the goal of building a civilized, modern, and sustainable urban area in the coming period.
Le Ngoc Tien, Party Committee Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the People's Committee of Trang Bom commune:
Taking people's quality of life as a measure of development
In the 2026-2030 period, Trang Bom commune clearly defines its development path towards a green, smart, and modern urban area where the people are both the center and the direct beneficiaries of development accomplishments.
The immediate focus is to implement the medium-term public investment plan in a synchronized manner, prioritizing essential infrastructure, including transportation, drainage, lighting, green spaces, schools, and healthcare. These are the fundamental components that directly determine quality of life and urban appearance.
In addition, the locality is promoting digital transformation, building a digital government, improving the quality of public services, and aiming for a transparent and effective administration to better serve the people and businesses. The consistent pillars remain throughout the development process are planning management, construction order, environmental protection, and climate change adaptation.
In terms of the economy, Trang Bom gives priority to developing trade, services, and the digital economy. At the same time, it is significantly enhancing the investment climate, expediting the reform of administrative procedures, publicizing plans, and proactively establishing clean land funds to draw in urban and service projects in a sustainable manner.
Venerable Thich Quang Tri, Deputy Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Dong Nai province:
Happy with Dong Nai's changes
As a Buddhist monk and a citizen of Dong Nai province, I am very happy with the news that Dong Nai province is preparing the necessary procedures to be recognized as a centrally governed city and that 10 communes in the province are being upgraded to wards. This result is more than a change in designation; it reflects and affirms the development of the communes and wards in Dong Nai province over the past period.
In addition, I hope that as Dong Nai province is upgraded to a city, greater attention will be paid to social welfare activities, helping the underprivileged, and other challenging situations. To meet people's
travel demands, further investments must be made in roads and transportation infrastructure.
I hope that every citizen of Dong Nai, including monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers, will contribute more effort and wisdom to join hands and unite for Dong Nai City's growth, making an important contribution to the country's prosperity.

Nguyen Danh Thinh, Director of Phuong Lam Trade and Service Cooperative
(Phu Lam commune):
Increasing the operational efficiency of traditional markets in the new context
Currently, the unit manages and operates two markets, including Phuong Lam market (Phu Lam commune) and Tan Phu market (Tan Phu commune). As Dong Nai transitions into a centrally governed city and Tan Phu commune evolves into a ward in the near future, these changes will create opportunities for the local trade and service sector to develop and reach a new level. At the same time, this is both an opportunity and a motivation for local retail channels, especially
traditional markets, to enhance service quality, upgrade, and develop markets to satisfy the area's rising customer preferences.
I hope that in the future, administrations at all levels, sectors and localities will continue to focus on supporting traditional markets in implementing appropriate solutions for management, investing in their sustainable and civilized growth, and encouraging digital transformation... Thereby, modern retail channels and general services are promoted in localities, particularly in rural areas.
Dieu Truong, a member of the S’tieng ethnic group in Tan Hung commune:
Strongly promoting policies to support ethnic minorities
The Dong Nai’s citizens, including ethnic minority people in Tan Hung commune, are very excited about the announcement that Dong Nai is getting ready to become a centrally governed city and that ten communes will be upgraded to wards. To enable the main workforce in the community to earn higher income, support their families, and contribute to local development, the residents and I share the same desire that policies that support ethnic minorities - particularly in terms of employment, preferential loans, and vocational training for young people - will be given more attention.
Nguyen Ngoc Nhu Y, a student of Lac Hong University in Tran Bien ward and a resident
of Da Nang City:
Expectations for job opportunities
Along with the joy that Dong Nai is getting ready to become a centrally governed city, I hope that more enterprises will invest in the province as it becomes a city. From there, it will open up many job opportunities for students who are about to graduate like me.
In addition, I also hope the transport system will be more convenient, not only within the province but also in connection with other localities. There will be more recreational venues and community spaces in the locality to meet people's legitimate requirements.
