Enterprises make efforts in epidemic prevention to ensure production

In the first 6 months of 2021, the industrial production index increased by about 7.54% over the same period last year. The province's industry in the first months of the year saw a good growth because the Covid-19 epidemic in the area was well controlled, businesses were assured to develop production and business.

Difficulty caused by the 4th epidemic

The Covid-19 epidemic continues to develop complicatedly in many provinces and cities across the country. Recently, some businesses have announced to stop operating for 5-15 days to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic such as: Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd (Vinh Cuu District), Taekwang Vina Industrial Joint Stock Company in the Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Zone, Pou Chen Vietnam Co., Ltd (Bien Hoa City), Ecllat Vietnam Textile Co., Ltd in Nhon Trach 2 Industrial Zone (Nhon Trach District), Dona Pacific Vietnam Co., Ltd., Dong Nai Viet Vinh Shoes Co., Ltd in Song May Industrial Zone (Trang Bom District), etc. The above companies have between 1 and 40 thousand workers, living in many areas in the province, so if they continue to maintain production, it will be very difficult in preventing disease outbreaks.

Mr. Luu Chau Bang, Director of Vietnam Center Power Tech Co., Ltd. in Nhon Trach 2 Industrial Zone said: “The company has thousands of employees working in factories, so the prevention of Covid-19 epidemic is very difficult. In the first 6 months of the year, the company still kept its production capacity, increased revenue in the domestic market and exported because the Covid-19 epidemic was well controlled. If the epidemic continues to be more serious, businesses will suspend production to prevent the epidemic from spreading because it will have a great impact on our business. In this period, epidemic prevention must be a top priority."

Currently, the labor force working inside and outside the industrial zone is about 1.2 million people. In which, the field of footwear, textiles, and electronic components attracts the most workers and these are also the main production and export industries of the province.

It is not easy to achieve the development targets

In 2021, the province's plan is for GRDP to increase by 8.5%, export turnover to increase by 8.1-8.5% compared to 2020 and per capita income to reach VND131.1 million per person per year. In order to fulfill the above targets, the entire government, businesses and people must join hands to fight the Covid-19 epidemic so that it does not spread to a large area.

According to Mr. Hironori Fujita, General Director of Otsuka Techno Vietnam Co., Ltd in Nhon Trach 6 Industrial Zone (Nhon Trach District), enterprises hope that the province will soon control the Covid-19 pandemic so that factories can be confident for their production. In 2021, orders are many, but the company is very worried that the epidemic may affect the production and delivery schedule.

In 2020 and the first 6 months of 2021, Dong Nai's economic growth is higher than the national average due to the province's good implementation of the "dual goal". In particular, the province has always given top priority to the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic. Many businesses believe that, in addition to implementing 5K, the solution that can control the Covid-19 pandemic is to have a vaccine source to vaccinate employees.

Mr. Tran Tan Phat, Head of Administration and Human Resources Department of SeAH Vietnam Steel Co., Ltd in Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Zone said: “The company has registered with the province to buy Covid-19 vaccine to vaccinate its workers. It is hoped that the Government and the province will prioritize the source of vaccines for businesses to ensure production and business."

Some economic experts said that Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Ba Ria-Vung Tau are provinces that make great contributions to the country's economy. Therefore, if the epidemic is not promptly suppressed to restore production and business, not only these provinces and cities will not achieve the growth targets, but even many economic sectors of the country will be severely affected such as: industrial production, export, trade in services, state budget revenue, foreign direct investment attraction, domestic investment attraction.
