Adapt to a new normal state
Compared with the first 'demand stimulus', this time travel and travel businesses have made more thoughtful preparations, especially maintaining anti-epidemic activities, equipped with antiseptic solution, hand-washing area as well as advising guests to keep necessary distance during travel.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hau, Deputy Head of Culture, Sports and Tourism Management Division (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism) said, according to the activities of the province's travel businesses as well as representative offices in Dong Nai, there were stimulus programs. Currently, these travel businesses are promoting to sell tours to some northern provinces, Da Lat and ecotourism spots in the province. However, the number of visitors is still low, partly due to the low stage of tourism, partly due to the consequence of the Covid-19 epidemic which still has a great influence on the tourism industry. According to Mr. Hau, the majority of tourist destinations in the province still decrease by 40-50% compared to the same period in 2019. However, businesses still maintain its operations and invest in some scenarios to prepare to welcome guests at the end of the year. “During the surveys, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism still regularly reminds destinations, travel businesses to maintain the state of epidemic prevention, fully equipped with solutions, hand-washing equipment during operation” - Mr. Hau added.
‘Golden time’ for domestic tourism
Noted that in some tourist spots in the province, accommodation establishments as well as travel companies, the number of tourists participating in tourism programs is mainly Vietnamese and foreigners working in Vietnam. Typically, in July, the number of domestic tourists to famous tourist destinations such as Da Lat, Da Nang, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, etc. increased significantly. In Dong Nai, nature-oriented eco-tourism also attracts tourists.
Mr. Tran Van Binh, Director of Center for Environmental Education and Services, Cat Tien National Park said that in recent months, in addition to the time of social-distancing, the number of Vietnamese tourists to Cat Tien National Park has increased relative to past year. According to Mr. Binh, the trend of Vietnamese people looking for tourism to experience nature is increasing; On average, the National Park welcomes about 3,000 Vietnamese tourists each month. “This year travelers are also different from previous years, we only receive guests' bookings very close before their arrival date. At this point in previous years, we have received reservations and tours to explore the forest in the last months of the year and Tet but this year there are no orders, so it is not predictable. Perhaps it was due to a sudden outbreak of disease concern.” - Mr. Binh shared.
Seizing the opportunity to attract tourists in the new situation, other tourist destinations in the province such as Buu Long, Ngoc Hoa Trang, Suoi Mo, Scorp Vang... also enhance the attraction of tourists with programs endow. Travel businesses also have their own preferential programs with tours to explore the Northwest, Northeast, Hanoi... in autumn.
