Some wooden products are at risk of being investigated for applying the trade remedy measures
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Quoc Khanh has just sent a document to the provinces and cities to notify the warning list of products at risk of being investigated for applying trade defense measures, origin fraud and illegal conveyance. In which, there are about 10 high-risk items including: Plywood from hardwood materials, wooden cabinets, sofas with wooden frames, artificial stone, ceramic tiles, electric bicycles, copper pipes, gas cylinder covers, pins crates, wooden slats and edging wooden strips.
The mentioned-above products of the enterprises in Vietnam are being exported to the United States market. Recently, some of the above items have been investigated by the United States Department of Commerce, the United States Customs and Border Protection for tax evasion and trade remedy tax evasion. At the same time, some of the above products are also at risk of being investigated for tax evasion and applying trade remedy measures. Dong Nai is a province with many enterprises exporting these products to the United States market. The Ministry of Industry and Trade requested Dong Nai Province and other provinces and cities to strengthen state management of original fraud prevention and illegal transshipment of goods in order to punctually prevent them from directly affecting the enterprises that do business with honesty.
Currently, the United States is Dong Nai Province's largest commodity export market with nearly 31% of total export turnover. If a certain product is applied the trade defense measures, it will greatly affect the export turnover because the United States would limit imports.
