The Prime Minister is meeting online with Dong Nai

 According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, in the first quarter, the province's industrial production index increased by 6.11% over the same period in 2019 (the whole country's index increased by 5.8%); export turnover reached more than 4,577 million USD, increasing by 3.16% over the same period; import turnover is more than 3,476 million USD, decreasing by 6.92% over the same period. The cause of reduced import turnover was due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition, some of the services affected by the Covid-19 pandemic have reduced revenue such as accommodation, catering, travel and tourism support. Regarding budget revenue, in the first quarter, the total provincial budget revenue was VND 16,103 billion, reaching 30% of the estimate, increasing by 35% over the same period. The total local budget expenditure in the first quarter was more than VND 5,470 billion, reaching 25% of the estimate.

Regarding the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic, on April 7, the province recorded the first case of the COVID-19 pandemic and was dispatched for treatment. Due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, a number of businesses in the province have encountered many difficulties affecting the employment of about 11,000 workers who have to temporarily stop work or have to quit their jobs if the pandemic will not be controlled by nations soon. According to the initial statistics of the Provincial Industrial Zones Authority, the total revenue targets of enterprises in the industrial parks in the first 3 months were only 98% compared to the same period.

At the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong explained why the ground clearance has not reached the scheduled progress in the past time due to a number of legal provisions to the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers; but the province has tried their best in the task. Regarding disbursement, the province will try to disburse all capital of VND 17 trillion in 2020.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested that Dong Nai should prepare for a new rebound when the pandemic has diminished in the coming time. In case the pandemic has not diminished, it is necessary to focus on the pandemic prevention for people. For the first positive case with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Prime Minister asked Dong Nai to focus on localizing, not to spread to the community.

Regarding the control of pork price, the head of the Government said that Dong Nai has the largest pig herd in the country, so it is necessary to strengthen the monitoring of price management so that no speculation can occur, raising pork price in the market, contributing to reducing CPI nationwide. The Prime Minister also assigned the Government Office to assume responsibility and work with the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Finance and the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province, especially the Ministry of Transport to consider each project in detail and report to him on provincial proposals for connected transport projects in the province. Regarding Long Thanh airport project, the Prime Minister also asked Dong Nai to concentrate on building the Loc An - Binh Son resettlement area project, speed up the clearance of Long Thanh Airport project, and try to disburse more than 17 trillion dong in 2020. Ministries and branches are required to support Dong Nai to speed up the implementation.
