Dong Nai welcomes Dutch businesses to invest in the city

On June 12, at the headquarters of the Dong Nai City People's Committee, Nguyen Kim Long, Member of the City Party Committee (CPC)’s Standing Board and Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, received a delegation from the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, led by new Consul General Raïssa Marteaux. The reception was also attended by leaders of the city departments and agencies.

Congratulating Dong Nai City on its establishment on April 30, 2026, Raïssa Marteaux noted that Dong Nai is one of Vietnam's new growth poles, offering numerous opportunities for sustainable economic development. She added that the Netherlands is currently the largest European investor in Vietnam. In Dong Nai, several Dutch businesses are operating effectively, including De Heus Vietnam, Vopak Vietnam, and Akzo Nobel Coatings Vietnam Limited.

Raïssa Marteaux expressed her hope that investment from Dutch businesses in Vietnam, including Dong Nai, will continue to increase in the future.

Nguyen Kim Long, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, said that Dong Nai holds a strategically important position in the southeastern region and the country as a whole. Dong Nai's economy currently ranks fourth nationwide and has maintained consistently high growth rates. Notably, Dong Nai has an inter-regional transportation infrastructure system centered around Long Thanh International Airport.

Regarding international cooperation, Dong Nai City has so far signed 27 valid city-level memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with 14 partners from six countries, including Laos, Cambodia, the Republic of Korea, Japan, China, and Portugal, and these agreements are being implemented effectively.

 

Dong Nai City currently hosts 19 projects by Dutch businesses with total registered investment capital exceeding USD1 billion. These projects are operating effectively in sectors such as industrial production, food, logistics, and supporting industries. Dutch businesses have made significant contributions to the socio-economic development of Dong Nai City.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee expressed his confidence that through this meeting, the Consulate General of the Netherlands would gain a more comprehensive understanding of the potential, strengths, and development orientation of Dong Nai City, helping create new and practical opportunities for cooperation between Dong Nai City and Dutch localities in the time ahead.

At the same time, the city leader also expressed his hope that the Consulate General of the Netherlands would continue to play a key bridging role by facilitating connections with Dutch partners and businesses to explore investment opportunities and conduct business activities in Dong Nai City. The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed the city's commitment to accompanying Dutch businesses throughout their investment process in Dong Nai.
