Two More New Communes Where the Blue-Eared Pig Epidemic Occurs

    So far the province has 14 communes involved with the blue-eared pig epidemic including Tan Vinh, Hieu Liem (Vinh Cuu district), Bac Son, Song Trau (Trang Bom district; Bau Can, Tam An, Cam Duong (Long Thanh district); Phuoc Thien, Vinh Thanh (Nhon Trach district); Song Nhan (Cam My district) DakLua (Tan Phu district); Bao Vinh  (Long Khanh town); Gia Canh (Dinh Quan district); Lo 25 (Thong Nhat). Accordingly, the veterinary sector has destroyed nearly 25,000 untreatable infected pigs. The epidemic remains complicated and shows no sign of being phased out.

    In order to prevent the disease from spreading, local veterinary departments have enhanced the propaganda for farmers to follow precautionary measures such as keeping breeding facilities sterilized, giving vaccination and feeding the healthy swine on more nutrition to increase their resistance.
