On March 18th, US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City Mrs. Mary Tarnowka paid a visit to Dong Nai.
Receiving the delegation, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Province and Chairman of People's Council of the Province Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong said that the relationship between the United States and Vietnam has become closer and better. For Dong Nai, at the present, the United States has a large project to treat dioxin at Bien Hoa Airport. Currently, Dong Nai people want the US to speed up the project. The leaders of the province hope that the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City will give them support so that the project could be implemented faster.

According to Mrs. Mary Tarnowka , the US Government is very interested in handling dioxin at Bien Hoa Airport to protect the environment and people's health. The goal is to solve the consequences of war to peacefully provide closure to the past, and to develop the economy and society together. Currently, US enterprises want to invest in Dong Nai in the fields of industry, infrastructure, aviation ... Therefore, in the upcoming future, there will be many US enterprises coming to Dong Nai to explore the investment environment.
Chairman of the People’s Committee of the Province Mr. Dinh Quoc Thai said that there are 27 US enterprises investing in the province in various fields of industry with a total registered capital of over 207 million USD, ranking 10th among the countries and territories investing in the Province. Dong Nai is inviting high-tech projects, which are the advantageous fields of US businesses. The leaders of the Province would like the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to be a bridge that brings many US businesses to Dong Nai.
* On the same day, the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City Mrs. Mary Tarnowka and the delegation of HI, USAID (USA) visited and worked with Dong Nai General Hospital on treatment and functional rehabilitation for patients at the hospital.
Mrs. Mary Tarnowka said that in April, there will be a US delegation to visit Vietnam and deal with dioxin in Dong Nai. The US Government wishes to continue cooperating with Vietnam in general and Dong Nai in particular to treat people with disabilities in the region, enabling them to live more normally and independently in life.
Mrs. Mary Tarnowka emphasized that, the post-war consequences of dioxin are very severe. Therefore, the United States wants to join hands with Vietnam to ease this pain through the most practical of actions.
