“Five DON’Ts” Against Blue-Eared Pig Disease

Provincial Farmers' Association said last week that it had collaborated with the Vinh Cuu district to disseminate methods against blue-eared pig disease for farmers in Vinh Tan commune. In addition, the association also encourages pig owners in the commune make the "Five DONTs” commitment: DON’Ts conceal epidemic; DON’Ts purchase and slaughter infected animals; DON’Ts trade and use any unquarantined animal products; DON’Ts allow animals to roam and sell infected animals; and DON’Ts throw carcasses indiscriminately into the environment.

Farmers participate in destroying the infected pigs in Vinh Tan commune

    To ensure prevention activities and timely report on the epidemic, the Provincial Farmers' Association supports the Vinh Tan commune affiliate one computer set for prompt information update. According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Thien, vice chairman of the Provincial Farmers’ Association, the association has urged affiliates of districts, Long Khanh town, Bien Hoa city in close collaboration with the local animal and plant pest steering committee to provide cadres, association members and farmers with knowledge of the symptoms and control over blue-eared disease.
