On January 27, the Provincial Food Safety and Hygiene Department held a conference to summarize the work of ensuring food safety in 2020 and implementing plans and tasks in 2021.

inspection team checks food safety and hygiene at an establishment.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Health Nguyen Huu Tai highly appreciated the practice of ensuring food safety and hygiene in the past year. However, there are still a great number of shortcomings to be overcome in the future. It is the poor awareness and responsibility of some people who produce and trade in good food. Many establishments also use additives, industrial colorants, etc. in improper manner and prohibition for use in food production. Although the number of food poisoning cases decreases, the number of people infected increases; and street food management still faces many difficulties.
Leaders of the Department of Health suggested that in the coming time, it is necessary to strengthen the leadership of Party committees, authorities, localities, and unions in ensuring food safety and hygiene. It is mandatory to do it for real, not just fancy slogans. It is compulsory to assume food safety and hygiene important, not an overtime task. It is important to promote propaganda, education and guidance to food producers and traders; at the same time, reinforce inspection, if any establishments or individuals intentionally violate, they shall be strictly handled and disclose with information on violation in the media without any regard and avoidance.
At the conference, leaders of the Department of Health awards certificates to 3 companies with standard collective kitchens meeting standards of building a food safety control model in 2020.
