Dong Nai has quite well controlled COVID-19, creating an increase in the needs of people traveling, dining and personal services. Restaurants, hotels, transportation companies, tourism, accommodation, etc also deploy many forms of attracting customers. This has brought many positive signs of service sector recovery in Dong Nai.
According to Dong Nai Statistical Department, due to COVID-19 effects, in the past 11 months, revenue from accommodation, food and beverage and travel in this province has reached about VND 13.9 trillion, down 6.9% year on year. As for other service sectors, it has a turnover of about VND 22.3 trillion, down by nearly 7.2% year on year.
However, in the past 2 months, revenue from the service sector has shown more positive signs due to the well-controlled epidemic situation, as well as service units and businesses have deployed many stimulus programs and promotions to attract customers. In addition, the year end is an opportunity for weddings, catering, festivals, and tourism activities, thus creating an increase in demand, thereby helping catering, travel and accommodation services have more conditions to recover after being affected by an epidemic.
Particularly in the past November, revenue from accommodation, catering and travel in Dong Nai was estimated at VND 1.4 trillion, up 4.7% over the previous month. Similarly, revenue from services such as real estate trading, administrative and support services, education and training services, etc., also increased compared to the previous month.
According to many units and establishments of transportation services, restaurants, restaurants, tourism, etc in Bien Hoa City, their business situation has been more positive after the epidemic has been well controlled. Turnover of many establishments and units has recovered about 60-80% compared to the time affected by the epidemic. In the coming time, they will continue to actively adapt, prepare appropriate plans in new situation to take advantage of year end when the demand for food and services increases, as well as a plan to ensure effective and proactive measures for COVID-19 prevention and control.
Recently, departments in the province have implemented many stimulus programs and year-end promotions to contribute to boosting domestic consumption, promoting and connecting consumers with various types of tourism services, travel, food service, etc.
According to the Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade, in the Promotion Month 2020 from November 1 to 30, the Department has received more than 1,270 promotional notices from businesses units. It is estimated that there are more than 430 promotions with discounts, of which 17 have discounts from 50-70%.
Meanwhile, Dong Nai Culture - Tourism - Cuisine Week 2020 (from December 2 to 6) has had over 40 thousand visitors visiting, enjoying food and connecting tourism. This event was organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with relevant agencies, gathering more than 70 booths with many rich and diversified activities such as cultural, culinary and tourist space between Dong Nai and other provinces and cities; introducing local cuisine and specialties; introducing tours, destinations, services, prices, promotions, travel advice, etc.
