Dong Nai to attract Japanese businesses

Dong Nai, with the investment trend in supporting industries, machine component… and currently service and retail, has attracted many Japanese businesses. According to Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Ho Chi Minh City, nearly 64% of Japan businesses wanted to expand investment in Vietnam.​


In the past 3 years, the number of Japan businesses to have new and expanded investments in Dong Nai province increased promptly. Japan is now the 3rd in the top 40 countries and territories to have investment in Dong Nai.

* Enhancing new investments
 
According to Department of Planning and Investment, until early March 2016, Japanese businesses have had 205 project invested in Dong Nai with the total capital of nearly 3.5 billion USD. In the past 3 year, small and medium size Japanese businesses have invested many projects in Dong Nai, they focused mostly on supporting industries and other sections that are provincial priorities for investment attraction. Many industrial zones such as Nhon Trach 3 (Nhon Trach district), Long Duc (Long Thanh district) recently formed some sections that are specialized to attract investment from Japanese businesses. Most of Japanese businesses in Dong Nai confirmed that the provincial investment environment is relatively favorable.
 
Mr. Yoshiharu Kondo - General Director of Osaka Fuji Vietnam Co. Ltd in Nhon Trach 3 industrial zone said: “The business has started recently and specialized in machine component, accessory manufacturing for recoated steel industry, machine maintenance and manufacturing section in Vietnam manufactories. We are invested by Osaka Fuji Japan. Although this is our new business, it reaches 10 million JPY/month. We planned to expand our business as we received more and more orders.” Nowadays, supporting industry in Vietnam is still weak that not only Dong Nai but many other provinces are also looking for foreign investments.
 
 “By the end of July 2015, Tin Nghia Corporation established Japanese Medium And Small Business Developing Company to attract investment from Japanese medium and small businesses to Dong Nai. In Nhon Trach 3 industrial zone, they had factories ready to lease to Japanese businesses. After only 7 months, they attracted 18 Japanese businesses to invest in supporting industry” – Said Ms. Le Ngoc Dung – Director or Japanese Medium And Small Business Developing Company (Nhon trach district). Japanese businesses mostly invest on mechanic and electronic component manufacturing in Nhon Trach industrial zone 3. Having the advantage in transportation and procedure, Dong Nai has been successful in attracting investment from Japanese businesses and continuously expanded. Predictively, Dong Nai shall continue to be the destination for many Japanese businesses.
 
Facilitating to welcome Japanese capital.
 Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori – Deputy Consul General of Japan on Ho Chi Minh city confirmed: “Dong Nai is an attractive place for many Japanese businesses. The province established Kansai Desk to support Japanese businesses in procedures, saving costs and time. That is the reason why there are more and more Japanese businesses to come to invest in Dong Nai province.”

Beside of new Japanese businesses, most of the existing Japanese businesses registered with more capital to continue expanding investment in Dong Nai. In 2015, in 93 existing foreign invested projects registered to expand capital, 30 of them are from Japan. And according to Department of Planning and Investment, there are 370 foreign invested projects retrieved but only few of them are Japanese projects.

Ltd (100% Japanese capital – Nhon Trach 3) – Ms. Le Thi Dang Hon said: “Our company specializes in equipment manufacturing for domestic company and export. Currently, the amount of order increase so quickly that we planned to expand our business in order to meet the demand”.

 At the moment, Most of the top large companies in Japan are now available in Dong Nai after being put into operation and unceasingly expanding such as Mabuchi Motor, Fujitsu, Toshiba, Terumo… Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee – Mr. Dinh Quoc Thai commented: “We highly appreciate that Japanese investments in Dong Nai increased and most or their investments are on Dong Nai’s priority sections. Japanese companies and their labors always keep good relationships so there is rarely any conflict that leads to labor disputes.

In the past 2 years, Japan is the second biggest country in having newly invested project and existed project registered to expand capital in Dong Nai. Most of which are on hi-tech and environmentally friendly supporting industries.
