April's industrial production value hits more than VND6.4 thousand billion

According to the Department of Industry and Commerce, the industrial production value in April – 2009 is estimated at VND6,405.5 billion, up 1.4% compared to the previous month.

    Particularly, for central state-owned enterprises, their production value in the industries of mining, paper and building materials falls. Food and beverage industry alone shows an increase in production value but it has been the lowest increase for years. Therefore, the production value of these enterprises in April only hits VND674.85 billion, down 3.8% compared to the previous month. For local state-owned enterprises, their production value hits VND208.06 billion, up 6% compared to the previous month. The industries of food and beverages, tobacco and building materials have shown an increase in production value whereas the rest has shown a decrease. For non-state enterprises, their production situation in April shows a steady growth but the growth is as not high as expected. The value is estimated at VND917.37 billion, up 1.9% compared to the previous month. For foreign-invested enterprises, the production value hits VND4,605.3 billion. This has been the lowest growth since they were affected by the global economic recession.
