Construction begins on upgrades to two primary schools in Dong Nai's border commune

The projects are being implemented under Decision No. 3344/QD-UBND, which outlines a comprehensive program to enhance teaching and learning quality in the city's eight border communes, with a particular focus on providing semi-boarding meal services for primary and lower secondary school students.

Under the projects, both schools will receive new administrative buildings, kitchens, dining halls, student rest areas, teacher residences, and multi-purpose halls. The plans also include the renovation of eight existing classrooms and supporting facilities. The two projects have a combined investment of nearly VND40 billion, funded through the city's education development budget.

Bu Gia Map Commune currently has four schools, including three managed by the commune, one kindergarten, and two primary schools, serving more than 1,200 students.

Tran Lam, Chairman of the Bu Gia Map Commune People's Committee, said the commune remains one of the city's disadvantaged border areas, with a high proportion of ethnic minority residents. "Investing in school infrastructure, particularly facilities that support semi-boarding meals for students, is of great importance," Lam said. "Once completed, these projects will help modernize the local school system, provide a safer and more welcoming learning environment, and better meet the educational needs of students in the commune."

During the ceremony, commune leaders urged contractors to accelerate construction while maintaining high-quality standards so the facilities can be completed and put into operation as soon as possible. Schools were also instructed to finalize preparations for the opening of the 2026-2027 academic year.
