The 65th Anniversary of Dong Nai Armed Forces’ Traditional Day – Dong Nai Armed Forces Receives A Commendation Flag with 16 Golden Letters on It

In the intimate atmosphere of the get-together, Colonel and Political Commissar of Dong Nai Military Headquarters Nguyen Gia Hoa delivered a speech to reminisce about 65 traditional years of struggle, construction, and growth of Dong Nai Armed Forces.

The speech stated firmly that the establishment, development, construction, struggle and grown-up of Dong Nai Armed Forces is an objective and indispensable requirement in Dong Nai people’s revolutionary struggle history.

After the day the French reoccupied Bien Hoa, Dong Nai established many armed units such as the guerrilla men at the So Tieu training camp, Chau Thanh District National Defense Corps, Bien Hoa National Defense Corps, and so.

For the purpose of the same leadership and command of war resistance forces in the province, on May 15, 1946, under the direction of the local Party Committee and Commanding Committee, Bien Hoa Municipal Party Committee convened a military meeting in Xom Den, Tan Hoa commune, Tan Uyen district (Binh Duong province).

The get-together decided about unifying all arm forces to form a single unit named Bien Hoa National Defense Corps.

For the time being, to promote the revolutionary tradition, Dong Nai Armed Forces has played a good role of an advisor for levels of Party Committees, and for local authorities with the aim of taking a good care of and of establishing people’s national defense, a war posture among the people and a firm defense area.

Up to now, 100 percent of wards, communes, and towns have established military detachments.

57 out of 171 military detachments have their own Party organs, representing 33.33 percent.

The establishment of reserved armed forces accounts for 100 percent of all units, and the percentage of Party members hits 7.12 percent.

Military recruitment hits a 100 percent target at three levels, and the percentage of enlisted Party members occupies 4.38 percent.

With a "Faithful, pious, constant, brave, courageous, resilient, active, creative, united, and determined to win victory” tradition and many a victory that has been won over 65 years, Dong Nai Armed Forces is honored to be given the titles: People’s Armed Forces Hero, Ho Chi Minh Medal, First-class Military Medal by the Party and the Government.

In 2010, Dong Nai Party Committee awarded the emulation flag and many other noble prizes to Dong Nai Armed Forces for its excellent 5-year completion of tasks.

Addressing the get-together, Deputy Commander of Military Zone 7 and Major General Phung The Quang, and Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh praised and highly appreciated Dong Nai Armed Forces’ achievements.

Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh stressed that throughout the two resistance wars against the French and the American, Dong Nai Armed Forces won many glorious victories.

Into a new stage of the revolution today, Dong Nai Armed Forces continues fulfilling its two given tasks: building and protecting the country.

In the forthcoming time, Dong Nai Arm Forces is required to fully grasp the resolutions at all levels concerning the strategies to building arm forces in a new context; to improve state administration efficiency concerning national defense and security; to raise the quality of military recruitment, training, and logistics for the establishment of a comprehensively strong armed force; to pay attention to its political tasks; to enhance combating ability, and the capability to get ready for fighting in case unexpected incidents occur; to ensure a national defense posture with the aim of breaking any plots, riots, and overthrows to maintain security and order and to contribute to promoting the province’s socio-economic development.

On this occasion, Dong Nai Arm Forces was honored to receive a commendation flag from the Commanding Committee of Military Zone 7 with 16 traditional golden letters.
