The 1st Meeting Session of the 8th Tenure Dong Nai People’s Council in 2011-2016 Period: Key Titles for People’s Council and People's Committee Elected

According to Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee and Chairperson of the 7th Tenure Dong Nai People’s Council Tran Dinh Thanh’s recommendation of the titles in the provincial People’s Council, Dong Nai People’s Council delegates casted secret ballots for the titles in Dong Nai People’s Council.

As a result, Member of the Standing Committee at Dong Nai Party Committee and Head of the Inspection Committee at Dong Nai Party Committee Tran Van Tu was elected as Chairperson of the 8th Tenure Dong Nai People’s Council.

Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee Huynh Thi Nga was elected as Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Council.

Deputy Chief of Legislation Department at Dong Nai People’s Council was elected as Standing Member of Dong Nai People’s Council in 2011-2016 period.

In terms of the key titles in Dong Nai People's Committee, the chairperson of the meeting recommended Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee and Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai for the title of Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee.

As a result, Mr. Dinh Quoc Thai was elected as Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee in 2011-2016 period with the ratio of 80/80 votes, accounting for 100 percent.

Next, the First Meeting Session of the 8th Tenure Dong Nai People’s Council continued to recommend candidates for the titles of Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee. As a result, four nominated People’s Council delegates were elected:

- Mr. Tran Minh Phuc – Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee.

- Mr Tran Van Vinh - Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee.

- Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tri - Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

- Ms. Phan Thi My Thanh – Secretary of Nhon Trach District Party Committee was elected as Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee in 2011-2016 period.

Five delegates were nominated to be elected as Members  of Dong Nai People's Committee as follows:

- Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh – Director of Dong Nai Police.

- Mr. Vo Minh Luong - Commander of Dong Nai Military.

- Mr. Nguyen Dem - Director of Department of Internal Affairs.

- Mr. Ho Thanh Son - Director of Department of Finance.

- Ms. Bo Ngoc Thu - Director of Department of Planning and Investment.

The First Meeting Session of the 8th Tenure Dong Nai People’s Council introduced its personnel and elected Heads and Deputy Heads of the Committees at Dong Nai People’s Council, Secretaries for the Meeting, and Jurors of Dong Nai People’s Court.

The Meeting heard Chairperson of Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Lien read a summation report of voters’ opinions given at the meetings between candidates and voters at polling locations.

The Meeting took consideration into and made a decision on nine resolutions on the structure of Dong Nai People’s Council and People's Committee, and Jurors of Dong Nai People's Court, and considered and adopted the resolutions on the five-year action program the 8th Tenure Dong Nai People’s Council in 2011-2016 period.

At this meeting, the meeting chairperson made an announcement of two publications: 7th Tenure Dong Nai People's Council in 2004-2011 period and a documentary film entitled "A Bridge to connect Party’s wish and people’s trust”.

Addressing the meeting, Chairperson of Dong Nai People's Council Tran Van Tu stressed that the First Meeting Session of the 8th Tenure Dong Nai People’s Council had a positive impact on the organization and the operation of the government machinery in the forthcoming time.

He added that the titles and responsibilities of the key newly-elected leaders in Dong Nai People's Council and People’s Committee in 2011-2016 period play an important role in taking leadership, giving directions, and implementing the province’s socio-economic targets and tasks in 2011-2016 period.

The second meeting of Dong Nai People’s Council as usual will be held to consider and evaluate the implementation of socio-economic, national defense, security and law enforcement tasks in the first half of 2011.

Simultaneously, it is necessary to put forward additional solutions to completing socio-economic, and national defense and security tasks in the second half of 2011 according to Resolution no. 01-NQ/TU dated January 6, 2011 by Dong Nai Party Executive Committee and Resolution no. 187/2010/NQ-HDND dated December 9, 2010 by Dong Nai People’s Council for high result achievement.

Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Council noted that:

- Dong Nai People’s Committee, sectors and local authorities continue to focus on implementing resolution no. 11/NQ-CP dated February 24, 2011 by the government on solutions to curbing inflation, boosting economic growth, and ensuring social security.

- It is necessary to finish compiling and making an evaluation of socio-economic situation, national defense and security in the first half of 2011 to put forward particular solutions in the second half of 2011 and submitting it to Dong Nai People’s Council for consideration and final decision.

- The Standing Committee of Dong Nai People’s Council takes responsibility for the implementation and the concretization of the contents of the five year action program in 2011-2016 period to make it a yearly action program.

First, the Standing Committee and other Committees at Dong Nai People’s Council continues to monitor the activities according to the Resolution no. 205/NQ-HDND dated December 9, 2010 by Dong Nai People’s Council on socio-economic areas, national defense and security to assess the situation and to get ready for the mid-year meeting session.
