Inter-Sector Inspection Delegation of Ministry of Education and Training and Ministry of Health Carrys out an Inspection of Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease Prevention

The session was involved in the prevention of hand-foot-mouth disease in the province.

The inspection delegation has a working session with the leadership of Trang Dai Kindergarten

After its inspection of hand-foot-mouth disease prevention in Sao Khue Kindergarten in Quarter 3 in Trang Dai ward and in Trang Dai Kindergarten and Residential Area in Quarter 4 in Trang Dai ward, the delegation had a working session concerning how to receive and treat patients with hand-foot-mouth diseases in Dong Nai Children's Hospital.

The inspection showed that majority of kindergartens and residential areas in Trang Dai ward have effectively carried out anti-hand-foot-mouth disease propaganda programs. They implemented disinfection program with Cloramin B effectively.

Particularly, receiving and treating hand-foot-mouth patients in Dong Nai Children's Hospital is faced up with a lot of difficulties due to overcrowding at the hospital.

Doctor and Director of Dong Nai Children’s Hospital Nguyen Le Da Ha said since early this year the hospital has had 12,499 lots of hand-foot-mouth patients examined including nearly 4,800 in-patients.

15 patients died of this disease at the hospital. In addition, the hospital transferred 20 serious patients to higher-level hospitals.

The rate of hospital bed use, especially in infection ward, is always higher than reality.

In terms of hand-foot-mouth disease patients’ treatment, the hospital is also faced up with many difficulties due to lack of equipment, medication and money.

The delegation has a working session with Dong Nai Children's Hospital on the receipt and treatment of hand-foot-mouth patients

Addressing the working session with Children's Hospital, Deputy Head of Commission for Pupils and Students Affairs Ha Thi Dung appreciated the efforts of the hospital, Dong Nai Health, committees, sectors, and unions in preventing hand-foot-mouth diseases in recent times.

In addition, the delegation appreciated and reflected the province’s problems in disease prevention to Ministry of Education and Training and Ministry of Health in order that solutions will soon be put forward.
