Chairperson of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Pays A Working Visit to Dong Nai

The delegation was received by Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Standing Committee at Dong Nai Party Committee Le Hong Phuong, Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tri, Chairperson of Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, and leadership from sectors and local authorities across the province.

Addressing the meeting, Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Tri reported on the implementation of the Politburo’s Conclusion no. 02 on the socio-economic situation in 2011 and the government’s Resolution no. 11 on curbing inflation, stabilizing macro-economy, and preserving social security.

Accordingly, VND60.6 billion was saved according to plans to cut down 10 percent of regular spending in the first nine months of 2011 and VND174 billion was saved according to plans to delay or extend the implementation progress of nation budget-based investment projects.

Despite many a challenge, Dong Nai achieved a pretty high economic growth rate in the first eight months of 2011. The provinces’ GDP reached 13.2 percent.

Among 25 socio-economic indicators, six exceed plans and the other 19 targets in 2011 are expected to be reached as planned. Society and Culture continued its steady development.

In the first half of 2011, 51,000 job seekers were provided with employment.

Political security and social safety and order were maintained.

Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai People’s Committee also pointed out the difficulties that Dong Nai is faced up with and made proposals to a number of urgent social security projects in need of continued implementation.

The delegation heard Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Xuan Chien report on the Front Affairs in the first nine months of 2011, on the implementation of “Vietnamese People Give Priority to Using Vietnamese Goods” in Dong Nai, on calling for donations made to natural disaster victims, and on propaganda programs concerning sea and island situation.

Next, Vice Chairperson of Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Ngoc Duc reported to the delegation on the implementation of the campaigns: “People Unite to build A Cultural Life" and “Day for the Poor” and on how Agent Orange victims’ lives are taken care of.

The meeting

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Huynh Dam highly appreciated Dong Nai Party Committee, People's Committee, and the whole political system’s strict directions and efforts in the implementation of Conclusion no. 02, Resolution no. 11, and three campaigns with a dynamic and creative spirit with the aim of bringing out practical results and contributing to stabilizing macro-economy.

Also, Mr. Huynh Dam suggested that in the coming time Dong Nai keep raising publicly political awareness of the great national unity and take interest in and further promote the role of Fatherland Front Committees and unions during the implementation of three campaigns: “Vietnamese People Give Priority to Using Vietnamese Goods”, "All People Unite to Build A Cultural Life”, and "Day for the Poor", especially continue implementing Conclusion no. 02 and Resolution no. 11.
