Agribank well implements the policy on loans for demand stimulus

According to report from Agribank, up to July 27 2009, the total amount of loan residue with interest rate supported is VND2,285.46 billion, making up 37.55% of the total loan residue for 30,261 lenders, including VND23.04 billion of loan interest supported.

Specifically, the loan residue with interest rate supported, according to Decision 131/QĐ-TTg is VND2,242.52 billion. Lenders supported are 30,139; the interest supported is VND26,964 billion. Agriculture and Forestry has the most rate of loans with 26,964 customers, equivalent to VND810.6 billion of loan residue and VND6,011 billion of interest supported.

According to the Decision 443/QĐ-TTg, loan residue with interest rate supported are VND42.5 billion; lending customers supported with loans are 117 with VND48.4 million of interest.

About the interest rate support package according to Decision 497/QĐ-TTg, Agribank supported with VND440 million of loan residue. Up to now, 1,231 customers have registered. The bank held to assess 657 files, including 157 customers not satisfying conditions for getting loans and 157 ones meeting conditions with VND4.3 billion of estimated credit capital.

In the procedure for loaning according to the Decision 497/QĐ-TTG, some cases of insufficient documents were turned down. Therefore, the loan residue is VND440 million, equivalent to VND150 million lower than the figured announced on the earlier July, 2009.

Vice-Chairperson of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Minh Phuc, one member of the delegation assessed, “Despite a lot of concerns in deployment process, Agribank implemented well the policy on loans with interest rate supported, especially for agriculture and rural sector. Because this is an  important political task, in the coming time, the bank should step up their efforts, especially for file assessment task. When indentifying the appropriate subjects, it is necessary to disperse quickly.    

Concluding at the supervisory visit, Huynh Chi Thang says that loan for demand stimulus according to Decision 497/QĐ-TTg is not a responsibility of Agribank, but of all commercial banks, and other offices, departments and sectors. Remained difficulties over the recent time show propaganda task not conducted extensively. So, the Farmers’ Association in localities, fronts, unions should work together and carry out actions ; besides, the People’s Council of districts, communes have to supervise actively, grasp the situation, collect needs of people and propose and suggest solutions for concerns so that demand stimulus policy of the government can be implemented effectively.
