Vietnam Social Insurance dialogue with more than 100 Korean enterprises

General Director of Vietnam Social Insurance – Mr.Nguyen The Manh awarded certificate of merit for enterprises to well implement social insurance regulations

Mr. Nguyen The Manh - General Director of Vietnam Social Insurance; Mr Bui Sy Loi - Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Social Affairs; Mr.Chang Hee Lee - ILO International Labour Organization Director in Viet Nam attended the conference. Leaders of Dong Nai province, Mr. Cao Tien Dung - Chairman of Provincial People's Committee and Mr.Thai Bao - Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee attended the conference.

Speaking at the conference, General Director of Vietnam Social Insurance – Mr Nguyen The Manh said that there were more than 4,500 Korean enterprises in Vietnam with more than 1.3 million employees participating in social insurance. Including 1.2 million Vietnamese, over 12,000 foreigners, the social insurance revenue accounts for over 25% of the total revenue of foreign-invested enterprises. Recently, Vietnam Social Insurance has implemented many solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of serving people and businesses. Up to now, Vietnam Social Insurance has provided 100% of level 4 online public services, integrated on the National public service portal and VSSID digital social insurance application on the personal mobile device platform. With the desire to introduce and effectively spread digital products to Korean enterprises, Vietnam Social Insurance has designed and built Korean version Vssid to help Korean enterprises could access and experience the features and utilities of the application.  According to Mr. Nguyen The Manh, in order to optimize the rights of workers, the two countries are conducting negotiations to sign a bilateral agreement on social insurance between the Vietnamese government and the South Korean government to ensure the social security rights of employees in each country. Vietnam Social Insurance is working closely with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to work with South Korean partner agencies to soon achieve this goal in the spirit of high-level agreements of the governments of the two countries.

According to Mr Cao Tien Dung - Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, currently Korea is leading in 45 countries and territories investing in Dong Nai with a total registered capital of nearly 7 billion USD, more than 300 projects. In 2020, the number of Korean FDI enterprises participating in social insurance in the province were 329 enterprises, contributed to the social insurance fund, accident insurance - occupational diseases over VND 3,400 billion, accounted for 28% of the total revenue of social insurance fund in FDI enterprises.

At the conference, representatives of some enterprises asked questions related to administrative procedures and social insurance policies for Korean workers working in Vietnam; unemployment assistance; suspension of payment of social insurance fund for enterprises affected by Covid-19 epidemic. In addition, the contents of health insurance, medical examination procedures for foreign workers are also questioned by businesses ... Representatives of Vietnam social insurance, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry; leaders of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee had fully and detailly answered businesses interests. Leaders of Vietnam Social Insurance hoped that in the coming time, Korean enterprises would accompany Vietnam in general and Vietnam Social Insurance in implementing social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance at enterprises, in order to ensure the weeds of employees.

On this occasion, Vietnam Social Insurance has launched the application to look up VssID social insurance in Korean version and awarded certificates of merit to Korean enterprises that well implemented the regulations on social insurance.
