Vehicles are free when passing toll stations to help prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic

The Directorate for Roads of Vietnam has just sent a document to provinces and cities, investors and BOT project enterprises guiding a number of contents related to the suspension of toll collection and free of charge at toll stations using services. Using the road to support the prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemic.
Accordingly, subjects who travel through BOT stations for free include: vehicles on duty to transport medicines, machinery, equipment, supplies and goods to disaster-hit places or to epidemic-hit areas as prescribed by Law on emergency when there is a major disaster or dangerous epidemic. Vehicles carrying officials, medical staff, people to strengthen support for epidemic areas, transport people from epidemic areas to localities, etc. For vehicles carrying goods to support people in epidemic areas, they need to have documents issued by local authorities or political and social agencies and organizations related to relief and humanitarian work.
In case the vehicles do not meet the above two requirements, the units shall collect service fees for road use in accordance with regulations.
