On June 22, the Ministry of Public Security held an online Conference on reviewing the National Population Database Project; The project on making, granting, and management of citizen identity cards (DI cards), and the announcement ceremony on the official operation of the national population data system since July 1, 2021.

At the Dong Nai station, the conference was attended by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc, together with representatives of departments, agencies and leaders of Public Security at the provincial and other levels.
Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised the results achieved by the Ministry of Public Security and local Public Security agencies in the implementation of the two important projects mentioned above. The Prime Minister said that the Public Security forces of the units and localities have implemented the projects with a high determination, great efforts, drastically implemented to complete the planned goals and tasks, making an important contribution to the transforming activities and social management from manual to modern and professional methods, contributing to innovating the way of managing people and managing society towards modernity, ensuring social security and safety.
In addition to the results achieved, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also suggested that the Ministry of Public Security continue to direct the police units and localities to overcome all difficulties, in the spirit of self-reliance to complete the above projects aims to contribute to the economic and social development of the country.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, right after the national population database project was approved by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Public Security determined this was a campaign that must be urgently implemented. Along with that, the Project on making, granting, and management of citizen ID cards is especially important in building e-Government towards digital government, digital economy and digital society.
Up to now, the Vietnam has collected and synchronized into the national database system on population more than 102 million forms from information sources. The local Public Security agencies have "cleaned up" the data on the system with more than 98 million residents. For the Project on making, granting, and management of citizen ID cards, so far, more than 54 million records have been collected nationwide, reaching the rate of 108%, and the cards have been printed and returned to more than 19 million citizens.
Based on a report of the Provincial Public Security Department, Dong Nai Province has more than 3 million people (of which more than 2.5 million are qualified for the citizen ID cards). Up to now, the public security forces have collected more than 3 million information forms, reaching 99.7%.
For the Project on making, granting, and management of citizen ID, so far the Provincial Public Security Department have received more than 1.4 million information for the citizen ID cards, reaching nearly 93% of the target (including nearly 47,000 information of the temporary residents); Public Security units have transmitted more than 422,000 data on the citizens to the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order under the Ministry of Public Security for the ID card printing. By the end of June 2021, the Provincial Public Security forces strive to complete and exceed the planned data collection target for granting the citizen IC cards (1.5 million people). Up to now, the Department C06 under the Ministry of Public Security has completed and returned more than 205,000 citizen ID cards to the ID holders in the province.
According to the Provincial Public Security Department, to achieve those results, the agency also mobilized more than 2,500 officers and soldiers in both provincial and other levels and prepared equipments to implement the 2 projects in the most effective manner.
On this occasion, the Government awarded Certificates of Merit to 28 Departments of Public Security in provinces and cities, including Dong Nai Public Security, for their outstanding achievements in implementing the two projects mentioned above. In addition, a number of units and individuals have also received medals and Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Public Security for their contributions in the implementation of these important projects.
