According to the report of the Department of Planning and Investment, the Dong Nai industrial development index in the first 2 months of year increased 5.12% and 2.71% over the same period in February 2020. Many manufacturing industries had good growth, including processing industry and machinery. Many large enterprises in the field of leather shoe processing, motorcycle production have a growth rate of 5 to 10%, including Teakwang Vina Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa IP2) and Changshing Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Vinh Cuu district). Notably, the wood processing industry for export, after a period of slow growth, has rebounded strongly with many wood enterprises having an export growth rate of 21% to 75% or higher. With good production activities, the provincial total budget revenue in the first 2 months of the year reached VND 13,838 billion, reaching 29% of the estimate and 33% of the year plan, in which the domestic revenue was led by and followed by revenue from goods export activities.

Along with that, the planning and architecture management is being drastically directed by the Provincial People's Committee, including the important regional plans such as the general planning of the area of Long Thanh International Airport, subdivision construction planning under Bien Hoa City general project planning, general planning of Trang Bom, Thong Nhat and Long Thanh districts; urban planning of Xuan Loc, Vinh Cuu, Thong Nhat, Dinh Quan, Trang Bom districts, etc. In the first 2 months of the year, the Provincial Steering Committee and the Appraisal Council for New Rural Construction have appraised and recognized 8 communes meeting the standards of newly enhanced rural areas and 3 communes meeting the model new rural standards of 2020.

According to the Provincial People's Committee, February is the time of the Lunar New Year, so the export of goods has decreased by nearly 20%. However, the cumulative export of goods in the first 2 months still reached 3.4 billion USD, up 17% over the same period. Meanwhile, the cumulative import of goods in the first 2 months is estimated at USD 2.5 billion, up over 18%. The main imported products are garment fuel, household food, computers, and plastics, etc. Although their import value is high, most of them are inputs for production, so it will have a great impact on the value of exports in the near future.

According to leaders’ reports of the Provincial Military Command, up to this time, Dong Nai is ready for military service with determination to reach 100% of the 2021 military assignment target. Currently, 100% of young people who are ordered to enlist to the army have been tested for Covid-19 and ready for the date of enlistment.

Dr. Phan Huy Anh Vu, Director of Department of Health, said that up to now, the whole industry is still focusing highly on the prevention of Covid-19. Although since new Covid-19 outbreaks, the province has not detected any cases of community infection, but the prevention has not been ignored, because just one case will cause confusion among people, affecting production activities.

Infrastructure investment is identified as one of the breakthroughs stated in the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress (Term of 2020-2025). Therefore, member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council Nguyen Phu Cuong suggested that departments and the provincial People's Committee must study carefully, carry out the methodical implementation, synchronously and on time. Recently, the Prime Minister has agreed to allow Dong Nai to develop more industrial land with a large area in many districts, including Cam My. Therefore, it is now necessary to quickly calculate and deploy synchronous roads, electricity and water systems, etc., to welcome large investors.
