Despite the fact that each project has its own focus, they all share the goal of exploiting and effectively utilizing Dong Nai's unique advantages in agricultural production development in accordance with the process of international economic integration.

Aim at large production

A number of major agricultural projects have recently been approved, including: the One Commune One Product (OCOP) project; the project on improving the competitiveness of agricultural products in Dong Nai province in the context of international economic integration; Israel's high-tech agricultural sustainability feasibility study project; and the project on southwestern urban agriculture growth.. The projects all have the goal of promoting agricultural restructuring toward building concentrated commodity production areas; agricultural areas using high technology; organizing production along the value chain; linking production with processing industries...

In which, the feasibility study project on sustainable development of agriculture with high technology application of Israel in Dong Nai province until 2025, with a vision to 2030, is regarded as one of the ground-breaking projects leading to a change in "quality" in the province's agricultural sector. The project's aim is to select strong agricultural products from Dong Nai, to accelerate the transition and deployment of Israeli hi-tech in agricultural production, and to build modern agriculture oriented toward large commodity production, international productivity, and quality. In which the breakthrough paradigm prioritized for early deployment is the category of agricultural products preferred by the export market.

Dong Nai also has an urban agricultural development project for the southwestern economic region of Dong Nai province to 2020, with a vision to 2030,that capitalizes on the strengths of each region and locality. As a result, promoting the agricultural restructuring process in Dong Nai province's southwestern area toward diversifying forms of urban agricultural production combined with high-tech agriculture; large goods production associated with the consumer market; reacting to climate change.. The project encourages various forms of agriculture that use little to no land, less labor, free labor, Persons Outside the Labour Force, and have a low risk of environmental pollution. This economic area also focuses on attracting a wide range of economic types to participate in the production- procurement-processing - storage - consumption of urban agricultural products.

According to Mr.Cao Tien Sy - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the aim of agricultural development in the new stage contain several contents such as: making a breakthrough in crop and animal conversion; changing production towards organic; using high technology in production; and building processing value chains, constructing urban agriculture, organic agriculture in conjunction with ecotourism development... Each locality will decide what are breakthroughs, innovations, human resources, and advantages in the growth of agricultural production in the new stage, and in the first year of 2021, breakthrough points must be established as the base for operating in the next five years.

Dong Nai's long-term aim is to create a closed supply chain in agricultural production, thus establishing popular brands for local agricultural products.

Dong Nai province monitors the development and efficient operations of cooperatives and agricultural cooperative unions in order to replicate the chain of ties from production to consumption. Dong Nai only founded 28 new agricultural cooperatives in 2020. Currently, the province as a whole has 177 agricultural cooperatives with many improvements in performance; the rate of good and good cooperatives is approximately 78 percent; many cooperatives use high technology in production and create a chain of ties in production and consumption. Furthermore, the province has 18 major field ventures.The province has 132 chain ties with 58 participating companies, with many strong farm goods in traditional markets, supermarkets, and so on.

One of the province's main goals for the term 2021-2025 is to continue fully enforcing the OCOP program; promoting trade development operations, and assisting businesses and cooperatives in developing trademarks for OCOP Dong Nai's goods on domestic and export markets.

Mr.Nguyen Huu Danh - Director of Dong Nai Agro-Forestry Fisheries Quality Assurance Department stated that the most significant success of the OCOP project has been to change people's views and cooperatives regarding the meaning of chain construction. In the coming years, it would be important to concentrate on implementing more realistic support programs for the supply chain in order to more efficiently leverage the specialties. From there, producing OCOP goods high-quality, unique that is not only well-received by domestic customers but also in the export industry.

According to Mr.Vo Van Phi - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said the main tasks and priorities of the agricultural sector in the new term 2020-2025 are for localities to grow areas of unique agricultural raw materials; agricultural areas using high technology to meet quality standards; connecting agriculture with processing of agricultural products; and improving urban agriculture. In which science technology is seen as the path to making a revolution in enhancing agricultural production productivity and product quality.
