The industrial production value of Dong Nai in the first half of reaches 23,500 billion VND

The industrial production value of central state-owned enterprises reaches 3,364 billion VND; the industrial production value of local enterprises is calculated to reach 1,197 billion VND; the value of foreign invested enterprises is 15,701.1 billion VND. Since the beginning of this year, 34 projects in the field of industry have come into operation. Together with these new investment projects, the total industry investment projects in the province are now 447 projects. The first half of this year, some industries such as electricity, wood furniture, footwear, paper and food make up a high portion in the total value and their export market is stable. The wood processing sector has a high growth rate this year due to its stable export market. In addition, some industries have expanded their businesses by equipping new modern machines. The growth rate of some industries which have high value such as steel, iron, chemical, mechanics are kept at a high level.

In the first six months of this year, the industry has encountered some difficulties such as the shortage of material for sugar industry. According to the roadmap to reduce the tariff in 2006, this has great impacts on the automobile and bicycle assembling industry which are ceased due to low consumption. The sudden increases in price of energy effect building materials industry and ceramic industry. The outbreak of bird flu in early this year and the recent outbreak of foot and mouth disease cause difficulties to animal feed industry.
