Supporting workers affected by the Covid-19 epidemic

In order to promptly support workers who are affected in their jobs and incomes due to the Covid-19 epidemic, Trade Unions and businesses at all levels are implementing many activities aimed at employees at the grassroots level, especially workers who are quarantined and located in blocked areas.

Meaningful gifts

Recently, the Trade Union of Bien Hoa Industrial Zone has instructed to support 8 F2 cases who are union members and employees of Quadrille Vietnam Co., Ltd. affected by the Covid-19 epidemic in the amount of VND3.2 million per person. The support money is extracted from the Bien Hoa Industrial Zone Union's financial source, via bank transfer. Currently, the Trade Union of Bien Hoa Industrial Zone is compiling a list of union members affected by the epidemic for timely support and assistance.

 

Meanwhile, in recent days, the Trade Union of Dong Nai Rubber Corporation and its affiliates have actively supported workers living in the blockade area with essentials such as rice, instant noodles, etc. meat, vegetables and fruits in order to help employees ensure their health, not to let them lack food and food during the blockade order. Small gifts have added motivation, encouraged employees to overcome difficulties, and work with the locality to control and repel the epidemic.

Dong Nai Rubber Corporation currently has 342 officials, union members and employees affected by the Covid-19 epidemic. This is the number of employees in the F1, F2, F3 category and in the blockade area. To encourage employees, the Corporation's Trade Union has supported VND2 million per person, who is F0 who is undergoing treatment, does not violate the provisions of the law on disease prevention and control; F1 union members and employees who must undergo medical isolation for 21 days at a concentrated isolation place will receive a support level of VND1 million per person; Union members and employees in medical isolation at home at the request of competent state agencies will receive a support level of VND500,000 per person.

Mr. Le Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of the Confederation of Labor, Long Khanh City said that workers affected by the epidemic all faced difficulties due to reduced income. Therefore, in addition to promoting propaganda and supporting workers affected by the epidemic, the City Confederation of Labor encourages and supervises the payment of benefits of enterprises to employees to ensure their lives. Some businesses have reported paying workers for 14 days of isolation or being in a blockade area. In addition, the City Confederation of Labor continues to update the data of employees affected by the epidemic on a daily basis to provide timely support. In addition, there is a plan to support employees who stay at the company to work VND500,000 per person.

 

Helping employees stabilize their lives

According to the Provincial Confederation of Labor, up to now, the grassroots trade unions have supported 368 employees, who are F1 cases working at units and enterprises worth VND1.5 million per person. The total amount of support is VND552 million. Trade unions at all levels want employees to stabilize their thoughts and working spirit to ensure work, income, and life stability. Recently, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a document on the implementation of the policy to support employees facing difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in the province according to the provisions in Clause 12, Section II of Resolution No. 7-2021 of the Government. According to trade union officials, the policy to support workers in difficulty due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in the province is both timely and realistic with the current reality of workers' lives. Because many workers are facing difficulties because their jobs and incomes are affected and their life is not guaranteed.
