Understanding that importance, over the past time, the provincial authorities have proposed many solutions to both propagate and raise people's awareness in environmental protection, while preventing and strictly handling violations in accordance with the law.

Pay attention to environmental protection

The Provincial People's Committee confirms that socio-economic development must go with environmental protection and effective management of land resources. Therefore, the Provincial People's Committee requires departments, sectors and local authorities in addition to pay attention to investment in environmental protection, it is necessary to further strengthen the state management of the environment. Specifically, regular inspection and examination of the observance of the provisions of the law on environmental protection; promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle organizations and individuals that discharge hazardous waste causing pollution into the environment. The prevention and control of environmental pollution must be carried out continuously and regularly, so that individuals and businesses do not take advantage of the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic to violate environmental laws.

At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee also requested the competent agencies to continue implementing solid waste classification, planning the locations for waste transfer and collection to ensure the environmental sanitation conditions, completing the living solid waste management project, implementing the projects for urban wastewater treatment in the province.

According to the Provincial People's Committee, raising the awareness of people and businesses in environmental protection is very important. Therefore, in the coming time, it is necessary to coordinate with departments, agencies and mass organizations to build, deploy, and innovate propaganda and education activities to raise awareness about environmental protection for both people and enterprises.

Strictly handle the violations

Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Quang, Deputy Director of Provincial Public Security said that Dong Nai is one of the localities having many Industrial Zones and a large number of enterprises. Recently, in some localities such as Bien Hoa City and Districts of Xuan Loc, Trang Bom, Cam My, etc. there have also been a number of cases of illegal mineral exploitation, discharge of wastes causing environmental pollution. Therefore, the police force has to further perform the inspection to promptly detect and handle environmental violations.

In order to promptly fight and effectively prevent violations of the law on the environment, in the coming time, the Provincial Public Security will continue to direct the local police to enhance their inspection, proactively detect and fight against the crime violating the law on environment, mineral resources, pay attention to the food safety inspection. At the same time, opening a peak period of inspection and protection of forest products and fighting against violations in mining and mineral trading activities in the province and bordering areas. Provincial Public Security will continue to carry out the preventive activities, promptly detect and resolutely handle violations in the treatment of wastewater, emissions, and hazardous waste into the environment.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tran Anh Son, Chief of Xuan Loc District Public Security said that in order to protect the sustainable living environment, the police force will strengthen the work of patrolling the situation and location, make a list of people and gangs specializes in illegal trading and exploitation of forest products and minerals in order to devise a plan to fight and handle the violations strictly according to regulations. In addition, the district police force also promotes propaganda to raise people's awareness, focusing on households living in areas with large mineral reserves, enterprises doing business in minerals, construction materials and households living in the area of protective forests.

“In the coming time, the district police will continue to focus on preventing, calling, deterring and educating those with criminal records and those with suspicions related to illegal mineral mining and forest exploiting activities, discharge the waste into the environment in order to timely prevent and reduce the violations of the law on the environment" - Senior Colonel Tran Anh Son emphasized.
